Probably because the BC ones are better quality and don't corrode as quick as these Meister R.

I'm booked in for my wheel alignment on the 19th, after that I can do a full review for you but first impressions are good:thumb:

Not on impreza but look about on other forums, Lancer register, Civic life, Corolla club uk (Prob need to be registered to view the threads about them)

This one is viewable without registering http://www.itr-dc5.com/forum/index.p...major-problem/

Paint all flaked off and corroded springs, threads rusty, poor aftercare or just faulty

Never had any issues with BC or FK

MeisterR 07 March 2014 05:30 PM

Yes we have had issues in the past and if you read that particular thread on itr-dc5 and the corresponding threads things were resolved. That was 2 years ago and since we have not had any more problems with that issue. We are not here to bash other makes but we are sure if you search on the internet you will find most if not all companies have issues large or small.

MeisterR are always on the forums or an email away should anyone have problems or concerns. You can always contact us and we want to hear from you.

Flaking/corroding springs is normal "wear and tear" as the spring is a moving part. Some have survived better than others but it does seem to come down to how much care is put into maintaining the coilovers.

We know and hear from many satisfied customers but if you have any questions please let us know.

There has been other more recent ones but I don't want to start a big post war, I was just replying to another post about why BC etc seem more popular.

However I wouldn't class corrosion as wear and tear in the time frames I have seen. My springs are only just starting rust and peel after 8 years.

Yours seem to get good feedback on the handling but the finish/protection seems to be lacking. See what the feedback is on the subaru group buy :thumb:

MeisterR 07 March 2014 07:58 PM

Just to note, I can't say MeisterR perfect… and any suspension manufacturer who say they are is seriously arrogant.

We have had our issue (like anyone else), but if there is a problem we fix them the best we can.
The DC5 issue was fixed 2 years ago, and we sorted out all the owners who had problem.
There was a corrosion issue a while ago that the owners weren't happy about, and we replaced the part as goodwill gesture under warranty.

Can i say nothing ever goes wrong with MeisterR… No.
But if there is a problem we are here to help and fix it, and that is probably more than what a lot of manufacturer are willing to do.

So if you have a problem, let us know.
We are happy if you are happy with your setup, and we are here to help if you are not happy.

Hi all, definitely considering buying some of these for my v4 type r.

Someone convince me why I should get these over BC BR RH (front and rear adjustable) series?

I definitely want something front and rear adjustable which I am not sure these are. Other thoughts would be welcome as well!

Darrell@Scoobyworx 20 March 2014 02:07 PM

looking at the pics they look suspiciously similar to the BC coilovers.

Same Factory ??

just me 20 March 2014 10:07 PM

Look like the Apex branded BC's.

dazh71 20 March 2014 10:22 PM

mine are fitted but need alignment + rear camber bolts, will report on handling after first test drive, very good quality suspension + very good price :thumb:

drakesnow 20 March 2014 10:28 PM

Interesting thoughts.

Is anyone able to offer a real comparison between these and BC's? I wonder as they are a similar price point, albeit the 20 percent discount is nice from Meister R!

I'd thought about BC BR RH (with castor adjustment in front too). Probably thinking 6/5 springs if I am to go with them.

MeisterR 22 March 2014 01:10 AM

This 20% off RRP is our initial offer but that will be coming to a close soon.

As far as MeisterR goes, we do have our bespoke damper specification so while it may look similar on the outside, the inside and the performance will be different.

That is one reason why if you search around and read members review, many owners find the MeisterR provide great ride quality over the uneven UK road surfaces because we have design the suspension to provide just that on the softer damper setting.

We have our own research and development department in the UK, and we are able to build bespoke suspension (such as the GT1) and provide damper service if necessary.

This ability is not something that most suspension brands within our price bracket can provide.

Jerrick thanks for the feedback so far.

Can you for GC8 fitment do a rear pillowball mount for camber adjustment on these? Or do you just reccomend camber bolts?

Is there any way to get front castor adjustment?

Just curious if you could give a price for this as well. I saw earlier in your post that you could do a rear mount for GDB so wondering what you can do for GC8.

Also, how do you find road and suspension noise with these in general with these?

Thanks again for your thoughts.

Yeehaa67 26 March 2014 10:12 PM

Hi I'm a total newbie on here so I apologise if I've put this in the incorrect place, I have a 2006 Spec D and I'm looking at fitting a set of coil-overs I am running 18" pro-drive alloys and wonders if the MeisterR ones would still fit okay?

We don't have the pillowball top mount for the rears it's best to go for some camber bolts if you want the adjustment. Essentially the same thing for the castor I believe, someone else might know better. We haven't had any complaints about out coilovers making noises in general.

MeisterR coilovers will fit, your wheel size wont be a problem in terms of fitment.

We have had some great pictures and reviews across the forums anymore owners want to join in?

Sti SpecD

Finally got the SpecD back on the road today.
Zeta-R fitted. Just need the geometry checked/set up now.
Initial impressions are very good.
No more noise or harshness the the standard Sti set up.
Nice flat cornering, and seem to have lost the high speed bouncy feel the car originally had.
Have set just a couple of clicks on the damping, maybe a bit of twiddling to be done when geometry is set, but not a bad starting position for fast road driving.

Will let you know more when I've done a few more miles.

JonMc 05 April 2014 07:47 PM

Did you opt for a different spring rate at the front as all my springs are black:wonder:

I assume that's the height set from the factory as mine is quite a bit lower now:D

oiler 06 April 2014 10:04 AM

No springs as supplied as standard. Perhaps Edwin can comment?

No not factory set height that was far too low, had to wind them up quite a bit.

Anyone got any good geometry settings for fast road?

MeisterR 09 April 2014 03:28 PM

Yes they are standard springs. We have red or black springs across the applications for the MeisterR coilovers. I can only assume the production mixed up the spring colours. They are standard and not changed though. Let me know the numbers printed on them if you really want to be sure otherwise colour make not difference.
