Hella Supertone Horns on a Bugeye

The missus is lovingly going to buy me some romantic Hella Supertone Horns for Valentines Day (they are the right colour right right? who said valentines day is a gimmick) :D and I was wondering how difficult they are to fit on a 2002 Bugeye STI? the only element I'm worried about is I think the power steering cooler is on the right hand side?

I think I'm probably the last guy in the UK with a Subaru who decided to fit these so I'm hoping some other bugeye owners can help, how the hella did you guys fit them placement wise around the PS cooler? also what's the wiring like is it straight forward enough?

I used the OEM horn for the first time at the weekend and I can safely say I won't be using it again for sometime.

Thanks

Got some on my Bugeye and wasn't difficult at all. I relocated the Powersteering cooling tube and then used existing holes to mount the horns.

Their a doodle to fit,
I just removed the mounting bracket on the ps pipe and pushed it back a few mm and the horn fits over the top of it.:thumb:

Thanks for the info guys, I saw the video above but wasn't sure about placement with the ps cooler piping in the way. I've seen that some people loosen the bracket the ps cooler is attached to and then bend it back slightly before mounting the horn in front (but with the ps cooler bent back it doesn't fail the grill). Wiring wise are you all using the relay? How did you wire it up?

Charly I looked at your link (thanks very much mate) but I couldn't see the last few posts you were referring to, do you mean the group by thread it mentions?

Cheers

Mine had airhorns till they went faulty. Decided to get Hella's but when I fitted them they didn't work either ! Turned out to be a bad ground connection and could've kept the airhorns after all :o

Got bored of the red so went blue, will probably go black eventually.

They are just a Scotchlok, with the American obsession with Vampires in the name.......
They have been around for forty years, I reckon

I meant the air horns not the clips, if that is what your referring to.

Yes, sorry, I was on about the Yanks calling them "Vampire clips".

Very very nice mate, looks clean! I do like them in blue. Mine is tucked up in the garage since last weekend (bought it early last week) only been able to get it out for a quick wash / polish on Tuesday - been chucking it down since!! Was hoping to go for a run this weekend but weather looks horrendous yet again.
