Alcon 330mm Replacement disks

Hi folks,
I'm new to the Subaru world, just bought a uk WRX turbo 5 months ago.
Very good car, lots of upgrades.
One of which is a big brake upgrade, seems the pads are too hard for the disk though (I think), Disks have worn very excessively, ruining the front wheels to the point I need to have them re-coated!
I have read through lots of posts but all from back in 2002ish.
The disks fitted are the single piece disks PN- PDBD026, is it still the case these can only be bought from Subaru?
How are the 2 piece ones in comparison from the likes of Godspeed?
Also, can anyone recommend which pads to be using?
Caliper PN- CAR7450F63ASLT.
I was pretty shocked at the price of around £460 for disks alone from Godspeed but after looking at old posts I'm guessing this is going to be the best bet? Like I said, I'm new to the subaru world and all a bit more expensive than parts for my CRX

Any advice appreciated

Cheers

I looked into getting this set up and found that the solid discs are more expensive than the Godspeed disc and bells. Also when you need to replace them you just get the disc part and use your existing bells which is a lot cheaper. Speak to Godspeed about pads.

if you want the 'best' then in the words of the 80's film Highlander "there can be only one" :lol1:

Oh really ?? ;)

We also offer PF discs with our own bells , as well as our very popular own discs

Thanks for the reply's Dave, AS, Godspeed.
As I said I'm new to Subaru's, first one but got a very good one. 52 plate, 56k, 1 owner, full subaru history, previous owner didn't skimp a penny on upgrades it seems.
Previous to this I ran standard XR4X4's and CRX (info FYI)
Dave, did you go for this conversion?
The car is about maxed out I believe, due to pistons etc, mapped by Andy Forrest, dual map, Higher Dyno @ 314 bhp and 324 lbft. These brakes are excellent but are they overkill?
Anyway, getting back to my original questions.
After reading old posts on here for hours last night, I am still none the wiser really.
I know the solid discs are more expensive, but, are they any better in comparison to the 2 part discs?
I only run this car on the road, but, can be a bit spirited at times. What pads should I be using? Not sure what is fitted right now but suspect some sort of racing pad. Seems like the pad is stronger than the disc, wearing out the disc and therefor instead of brake pad dust I seem to be getting Very hot disc particals that have ruined my front wheels, along my doors seem to be affected too (my therory).
My disks have deterorated so quickly, mot was done 2 months ago, no advisory's, nice grooves on discs, now no grooves and very thin either side (calipers dont seem to be siezing at all either). I need to get parts ordered ASAP as I dont want the discs seperating or worse.

Advice greatly appreciated.

No, I never in the end :-(.Speak to both suppliers above. They can both advise you on what you need and how the 2 part disc is better and I'm sure they'll sort you out with a competitive price;-)

we stock/supply various pads for this specific Alcon caliper type (as well as many others) and can easily advise what would work best for your use/driving style

as for the std discs then they have no comparison to a properly designed 2pce set-up in either longevity or performance

What prices can you offer on the disks and pads?
I would like a good "all rounder" pad, I dont do track days with this car but do drive a lot on country roads where occationally you do need to slow down in a hurry.

The alcon prodrive one piece rotors are prone to warping/cracking over 550C. I did some track days in there, but I also managed that on the road as well

I went through several sets in very short order- I now have two piece PF rotors (from AS) and pagid pads. No issues since.

Sounds like they are the way to go then.
