For Sale: Forged 2006 Hawk STI

Due to finding out I'm going to be a daddy I've made the decision to sell my pride and joy and free up some funds!

For sale is my beloved 100% original, unmolestered and unmodified (bar the engine!) forged Hawkeye STI. No need to worry about the chocolate internals in standard hawkeyes and even more prone to failure in re-mapped/upped bhp standard engines!

I have a company car so this was my toy and lovingly cared for. It took me a good year to find the perfect car and a month or so before importing a Japanese model I found this which ticked all my boxes!

The car was traded in as a non-runner at Stan Palmers dealership in Carlisle so Rob Ostle rebuilt the engine and forged it at the same time. Rob had just finished a 500 mile run in period before I bought her so I than ran her for another 1000 miles limiting boost levels and revs to 4000rpm.
At this point the car was returned to Stan Palmers to change the oil and make sure everything was fine. The car hasn't been remapped since the build but apparently the expected figures are between 280-300bhp (slightly increase on standard). My plan was to sport cat and de-cat the exhaust, change the injectors and fuel pump and have it re-mapped to around the 380+ mark (hopefully!).
I have been imformed that due to the strength of the engine a re-map alone would see around the 350bhp mark.

48,770k (Engine forged at 42k in June 2012 so only done just over 6k miles. Mileage will rise slowly as I'm still using the car where necessary)

Engine:
Block halves skimmed and overbore and plateu hone on each cylinder
Cylinder Heads underwent skimming and a full crack + pressure test
(above work carried out by Paul Finch)
1.1 mm Cosworth Multilayer Stopper Gaskets
ACL Race series Main bearings
ACL Race series Big End Bearings
Mahle 99.75 mm 4032 Forged Pistons complete with wrist pins lock clips and ringset
New timing belt
New clutch
Whilst the above work was being carried out the remaining engine parts were all chemically cleaned and measured to be well within tolerance.

Engine rebuilt by Stan Palmers Subaru dealership. Full detail of rebuild available on request.
I have a folder full of receipts, V5, workshop sheets for any work carried out (all at Stan Palmers) and previous MOT's.

This car is a perfect base to create a safe, usable, VERY fast car.

Will take £10,000 as I have found a car I want and not wanting to p/x. Preferred method of payment is cash on collection, if this is a probablem please call.

All test drives will be carried out by myself unless adequate insurance is presented (this will be checked and varified on the day).

Little unfortunate update. I managed to kerb the, PERFECT condition, wheels yesterday due to some silly bint parking halfway across the entrance to my estate.
The kerbing isn't too bad but I just thought I'd better mention it as I'm a perfectionist and I'd rather say now!

Due to this I am willing to either drop the price by £200 to £10,550 (cost quoted for a re-furb) or get them re-furbed back to original condition and leave the price as is. Buyers choice.

Thanks mate

Clean car just what i'm looking for, has this had the studs done during the rebuild ? I can see its had other bits done but can't see the studs listed.

oliVeR6 28 January 2014 08:43 PM

No it just had them replaced for new standard studs as there was no evidence of head lift prior to the rebuild. I did also ask the question myself and was told that the standard studs should be good for past 400bhp. That was enough for me at the time lol.

oliVeR6 29 January 2014 03:21 PM

Forgot to mention the car was also selected as one of 2 2006 cars for the 20yr celebration of the Impreza at Prodrive.

Its aint full forged,it only has forged pistons right (OEM rods)?

beardo47 09 February 2014 05:08 PM

If this would of been built at a reputable builder and had the studs done I would of offered you asking price in the first post. But these niggles put me off, good luck with the sale though as it looks a clean car

That's totally understandable regards the little things putting you off. As I mentioned in the PM the studs aren't essential as long as they are torqued correctly (where the fault lay when they came out the factory)! But as I said I can appreciate that specific things can be important to people.
As for a reputable builder, do a search on here for Rob Ostle or Stan Palmers and you'll find they've been recommended for not only forged rebuilds but also for being a decent dealership. Believe me I wouldn't have even bought from there in the first place let alone sent her there for servicing if that wasn't the case haha.
Cheers buddy, she really is a great car and probably got looked after better than my missus haha.

Should probably have put this link in the first post but never mind lol!

Thanks mate lol.

Yeah it's currently the cheapest forged Hawkeye STI in the UK at the moment. Would love to see someone buy her and make her into what she should be!

Looking at an F10 530d M Sport

Well I was after one for wife. But mine went bang so currently forging mine.
Oh n wat it should be?? Wat you talkin big power beast??

Was told by my builder mine would be good for 450 with bigger turbo n fmic??

oliVeR6 14 February 2014 10:14 PM

Yeah. Rob, who built my engine, said it would see 350 with just a re-map. So yeah injectors, turbo, fuel pump and map and 450 would be a possibility.
I'm not sure a TMIC instead of FMIC would make much difference unless you're planning to do high speeds over long distances?
