Very true.

I'm a lesbian.

JackClark 04 January 2014 10:02 AM

Subaru are very much a gay icon in the US. Not many without a rainbow on the back.

Especially the one's with fake roof vents. :lol1:

Never heard about lesbian/gay taking special interest in Subaru, instead a lot of people stereotype Subaru as a hard man's car with bald head and tats on their rough and ready body, but nowadays I see a lot of gentle and pleasant looking men driving turbo Subarus. It must be just around here for what I know. :wonder:

Now because they're pleasant looking men, they must be gay to the most of you lot's eyes, anyway. :D

Don't forget the obligatory Staffy. The chav's car of choice should always be accompanied by the chav's dog of choice.

I thought lesbian's always looked more like Bulldogs. Rough ruff!

Oh, yeah! I forgot that! Also, a fit.......err....... a fugly and an easy bird in a passenger seat; a Vicky Pollard lookalike; eating take away from a greasy chippy inside the car. Also, two screaming, ill-mannered chav brats in the back; pulling each other's dry as hell hair with millions of nits crawling in.<shudders>

What a world we live in, eh. All Mazdas are driven by hair dressers; all Volvos are driven by Jews; all Mercs are driven by Indians and Pakistanis; all Subarus are driven by chavs and all Audis are driven by tw@ts . The more expensive the Audi is, the tw@tter the driver is. Great. :D

LSherratt 04 January 2014 04:50 PM

Just as well I own a Vauxhall then :) I don't think there is a stereotype for Vaxuhall owners? Or Ford either?

I'm bald( shaved not naturally :D ), I have tattoos and own a staff, a long legged blue staff but a staff nontheless, am I a chav? :Suspiciou

I also have a pure bred welsh sheepdog and a cat, just incase there are any stereotypes that involve them...

What does? Being bald with tattoos or a chav?

That's why the wife won't drive it then, that explains everything.

In fairness though, there's more room for mischief in the back of my Forester.

Yes, there is. Vauxhall Corsa and Ford Fiesta are linked with two polar opposites. Either you're a spotty, inexperienced teenager, or an old age experienced pensioner to have these two models. Spotty kid would drive a heap, whereas the OAP would have a ten yr. old motor in VGC with very low mileage sitting on his drive that he takes to town once a week to do his/her shopping. That's about it.

If you don't drive a Corsa, give me the name of the model you drive. I'll knock one stereotype together for you and your car. :thumb: :D

Ooh, is it an unlimited edition Corsa? The moment someone thinks. About buying a limited edition Corsa they instantly produce another hundred.

markjmd 04 January 2014 08:01 PM

Whether or not the title stereotype is accurate, it does sound like a great idea for a new section to the site. Mods? :D

Loxy 04 January 2014 10:45 PM

Made the BBC news too. Allegedly lesbians are four times as likely as straight women to drive Subarus.

Wannabe Audi driver. Like Audi drivers, also doesn't understand how to use indicators. :D

Do they? :lol1:

LSherratt, if you had a second hand Vauxhall Nova, you'd still be a spotty teenager with no manners. :D

Another car i.e. second hand Fiat Punto is associated with 20-something speedfreaks that are broke, still scrounge off their parents, raid their fridge and have house wrecking parties when their parents are away. If these cars are bought brand new, they're OAP mobiles, as OAPs would buy anything that is new and shiny but little, for their weekly shop run or daily morning run to buy a newspaper. Peugeot is another one which is equally appealing to these polar opposite groups.

Oh, right! We'll stick to what Scoobywon't says i.e. wannabe Audi drivers. I'd say Astra is for middle-aged, golf playing people, but with young people like you, I'd say that Astra is for the young that are mature in their head, regardless of the fact that Astra is actually a tin can on four wheels, but they think it's dog's bollocks. :D

Gear Head 05 January 2014 10:24 AM

The lesbians round my way are proper rough. They all wear beany hats, have stubble and most likely, a penis! :D

Oh, right. This^ evidence supports the stereotype I put together ;) but I messed up when I said "any make of Astra":brickwall The excuse I make is that I was sleepy at 2am hence the mistake. I've corrected that mistake now. :D

Turbohot 05 January 2014 11:33 AM

BTW, Chris. With your fine taste in cars, please try influencing your brother to did his tin can, and get a proper car. He can continue to play Golf, we'll let him off for that. :D
