Quick question about ALS

I've heard and read about antilag and I kind of understand how the different types work but still don't fully know the pros and cons of them. I like the idea of using an air bypass system as it's meant to be more efficient and maybe less hard on your engine but I've also read that it's quieter. Is this true and does anyone know what's involved in with fitting/cost?

I can only comment on my own ALS system. I run alcatek. It's not overly loud compared to a lot I've heard. The main noticeable difference is in the throttle peddle. If feels really sensitive, the slightest touch and the car seems to want to lunge forward. And obviously is idles slightly higher on tick over.

Depends how much air the bypass flows. If its ported and flows lots, you can add more fuel for a bigger bang/more aggressive. If its a small hole less air so less fuel needed.

Egr als is quite difficult to plumb in/more expensive due to parts required but its what the rally boys use.

Thanks guys for the info so far I am also running an alcatek but I'm on a running in map at the moment and when I go to get it mapped up I will be having the standard antilag. However I will be doing occasional track days (just for fun) and want to reduce lag as much as possible. Would I benefit from the bypass valve system as I won't be competing?

most tracks will not allow aggressive a/lag due to noise restrictions.....if at all

As above on most track is noisy limit and with ALS you will break them

Best way how to run ALS is via DBW and Air pump, but for more aggressive and effective ALS you will need lot more just those above
