lateral mdx321t (billet) on a 2005 sti 2ltre
just wondering what people's thoughts are on the above setup.
this is mine http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/...1_182941-1.jpg now to be honest I didnt expect it to be so laggy on my car. I have a decent setup I was just expecting alot better spool than this. im wondering what I can do to get faster spool?? all comments very welcome craig |
Meth doesn't appeared to have done much which seems odd to me, or is that me looking at the graph wrong?
What's your spec? Rob |
I also thought this meth had min difference. With avcs heads thought it be alot better.

Who mapped it, I would be looking for more than that, are your injectors holding you back perhaps?
|
cheers mate.

. I don't think the injectors where at full duty at this power |
Well Simon knows his business so woulden't be thinking theres anything wrong on the mapping side, did he mention any thing about the car like something holding it back?
|
oh no. im not even thinking its got anything to do with simon. hes a top bloke.
no didn't mention anything. it just seems alot of people get alot better results from less. I just want to find the problem. it aint the turbo as its brand new |
How good was the Meth and what %
|
20% and fresh stuff jennychem
|
is your avcs working?
|
dunno lol
would si of known this when the car was mapped? |

I had a brand new 321V and it performed much like yours, ok it's a bigger unit I know. However it was 'fettled' by Zen Performance and it was transformed. Don't assume that what you have is working at its best just because it's new. |
what was wrong with it?
|
Just realised Ive been looking at this graph wrong lol!

how u reading it now mate? |
Does look a tad slow to get going on the graph, but what does it feel like on the road.
I'd expect it to make full boost in the high gears at less than 4000rpm, is that about right ? |
ill check tonight. as the wife drives it all week
|
I'd get it dyno'd again mate. Somewhere other than 52 for comparison
|
have youmate? ?
|
How does the spool now compare to how it was before the work on the turbo was done?
Trev |
My set-up is very similar - MDX321T RCM induction GTspec headers Harvey up-pipe Milltek 3" 650 inj. Japspeed FMIC Standard ECU with AVC-R
At Surrey RR mapped by Simon best run of 436bhp on V-power only Looking at the graphs I get full boost (1.65bar dropping to just over 1.5 at redline) at around 4300rpm. Makes 1bar at 3700rpm. As Martyn says, it boosts quicker on the road. I see yours is peaking at nearer 1.7bar? Simon would instantly know if the AVCS was working, it's part of the mapping procedure. Have to admit, your power curve doesn't look particularly smooth? JohnD |
yeah something aint right I think
|
what torque is it making?
|
360
|
It might be worth asking Turbo Dynamics if there is any difference in size i.e. compressor housing and wheel size, over the old turbo, as larger could lead to a slower spooling turbo.
Trev |
its ment to be a faster spooling turbo than the original t. to be fair I dont think its the turbo. the problem is somewhere else. where? I dont know, and don't know how to find it.
|
Am I correct in saying that the boost level has been dropped when the meth has been added, lower boost will equal lower power figures, it appears to be making much the same power at 2 different boost pressures.
