Oil Change or Not?

Hi Guys
I last changed my oil exactly a year ago today with Gulf competition & a genuine filter.
Heres the thing,I have only done 1000 miles in that time.
So the question is would you wait a few more months, maybe til spring time?
Or for the sake of only £50 shall I stop being a tight ar$e & get it changed now?

I'd change it, been sat in the engine a year is not like sitting in a bottle.

When ever in any doubt what so ever the correct thing to do is change it. I change mine twice an year regardless of how few miles. normally about 2000 in my case. I don't care if some think i'm wasting money. It my engine and it only gets the best.

I used to change my oil and filter every 4 months without fail. Sometimes only having done a few hundred miles.

Change mine every 6 months mate. For the sake of 50 quid.

Just a 1000 miles I would not dream of changing it. You have to much money changing oil and filter every 4 months

Check the condition of the oil, if its clean and still seems fine then keep it in there for a bit longer, theres no point spunking £50 for new stuff if its not really needed. That said its always good to keep on top of oil changes and servicing etc.

I change my often on my scooby not usually about 5k, at work on the new bmws you can go 30,000 without a change, the vehicle monitor thier own oil quality.

I'd change it as well for the sake of £50 and 15/20 minutes, but i'm old school and would be worried about condensation and fuel in the oil.

There is of course the other option of going for long drive on the motorway for about 1 hour at 70mph to get it hot enough to let any fuel or condensation evaporate, only problem with doing that is it's going to probably cost 50 quid in fuel and take twice as long as an oil change.:lol1:
