Got them fitted , but on day of mapping it spun a main bearing and was knocking like a barn door in a force 10 gale!!
Stripped engine to find........................

So set about rebuilding her using
v8 crank
Manley h beam rods
full ACL bearings
Up rated gaskets
new oil pump
belts, tensioners etc etc

http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/a...3.jpg~original

Took me 44 hours to rebuild her usually after work and weekends
It was a slow as it was the first time i had an engine out,let alone rebuild one, i took advice and know how off my friend who runs a subaru rally prep garage and let me use his workshop!

Finally got to a finished state and turned key................White Noise lives!!:thumb:

Ran car in for a while ,oil changes etc etc then booked into JGM to finally get boost turned up
After a few dramas were sorted on mapping day (dead maf and a oil leak from split gasket on sandwich plate) the car was mapped and achieved 374.9bhp/353ft lbs ........boy was it a awesome drive home! :luxhello:

Looks great. The intercooler pipework looks nice in black. What kit is that?

Thanks , the fmic kit is a JPerfomance one,but i bought it from a breakers who said it fitted a classic, turns out it came off a bugeye and meant it wasnt as simple to fit!! ,i had to 'cut\modify' the pipework so it fitted correctly

Looks lovely mate. I love Sti wagons. I had to sell my bugee Sti wagon to live off when I was off work with my back.

Got back on my feet and got the money together for a nice classic Sti, I'd have bought an Sti wagon in a heart beat but actually ended up with a saloon that was local and too nice to miss really.

If you ever decide to sell it in the future, drop me a pm.
