to a degree it depends on which AP 4pot your talking about.............

the cp6600 style are similiar to Brembo's IMO, whilst the cp5200/5040 generally perform better

If your using the same type of pad , and a good disc , there wouldn't be much in it between the AP 4 pots or Brembo STi 4 pots , its not something I would tell a customer to spend the extra on , it would probably cost around a grand to change taking into account selling the STi brembo set up , I think it would be a waste of money
its basic physic's really , both are 4 pot calipers , both run about the same size disc , and the pads are similar size , so how can one be better than the other , the only advantage you would get running the AP 4 pots would be that they are lighter , so if your building a race or track day and are keeping the weight down , the AP's are the ones to go for
I would recommend the AP 6 pots over the Brembo STi calipers as you would get a noticable increase in braking power from high speed , the AP 6 pot has a larger pad than the 4 pot caliper

what would cp7040 6 pot cost me brand new?

proper ap kit not cheap reyland kit

Godspeed Brakes 29 November 2013 11:45 AM

The AP kits using the 7040 calipers are either 355mm or 362mm so will only fit under 18" wheels , these kits are £1995.

We also make kits up using 7040 calipers but with our own discs bells and brackets , and a choice of pads , but we can offer a 335mm kit to fit under 17" wheels , as well as a 355mm kit for 18's.
Our kits are £1400 and £1500 respectively
