Mavic cassette

Iv broken 11 tooth cog on this ( I presume mavic cassette - all individual cogs separated by spacers for campag )

Wheel is a cosmic elite from 1999.

I've bought this one, think it's what I need

Retrobike.

Ok thanks

I don't think Mavic ever made cassettes; probably Shimano.
Just use trial and error and hope for the best; cassettes vary a lot!

It'll be a Campag cassette if that's what your group set is. As stated Mavic don't make the cassette. Just the wheel and freehub.

If you're running a 9-10 speed rear cassette then the one in the link will be fine.

Ah thanks, bit of a relief.

I'm confused though still. - I mean what's this then.

I bought off ebay, " i think". ( since I can't quite remember ). To use my cosmic wheel (road bike is campag ) on the tri bike (shimano geared) incase it was too windy for the disc.

Since you can use same cogs with different spacers

Mavic made 2 casettes IIRC , perhaps the top one is the one you have....

Looks very much like the top one only ten cogs.

Both the one on the bike and the one in the box i pictured

Except the one in the box has the 11 tooth cog missing - I'm trying to remember why

Anyway the two cassettes look the same except curiously the cutouts for the splines are 100% different ( relative to the teeth) - both cassettes go on freewheel fine.

The freewheel is as ruff as Fcuk though, the bearings I mean

And from what I can tell it's almost impossible to find another one of this vintage

Thanks for that link btw. :thumb:
