Anyone Fitted Cobra Seats to a Newage

Wondering if anyone has done this successfully using the specific Subaru Cobra rails for Cobra Daytonas?

I read varying reports saying its fine, some saying its high. Saw a set on NASAIC at it seemed ok...

The standard seats destroy my back, and toying with the idea of a set of Cobras or going for Recaros out of a DC5 or Evo, and getting the rails. But the cost is a lot higher.

Anyone any Subaru Cobra seat photos? Cheers in advance y'all

I had cobr daytonas in one of my old escorts, imo not the comfyest seat and **** round track as no side support and you end up wedging your knees under the door handle to stop yourself falling out! As for fitting, they had the cobra sliding mounts and seemed ok height wise, but that as on a mk6 escort

Imo the standard seat is better, i guess you have played about with adjusting the tilt/height and back rest?

In my old sierra i fitted a pair of cobra suzukas, yes they are a fixed back, but have high sides and keep you in place, while the fixed back gives you a good posture.
Cant comment on fitting those to an impreza but i had rails welded in and the mounts bolted to them.

Thanks for the reply fella...no side support? they seem to have way more than a standard STI seat?...i still need them easy to get in and out of as its a daily driver. but food for thought, cheers

Ive never gotten on with Subaru seats, even in my old Type R...the best seats I ever had where Recaros in my Mk2 Golf, I could drive non stop for six hours and wouldnt even feel it!

Recaro's are a good seat.

i just found the bolsters on the daytonas too soft. although i have not tracked my impreza to comment on the seats in that (STI seats)

ill try and found out what seat guy i know uses in his big power escort cosworth, regularly taken to the 'ring - im pretty sure thats a recaro that can be adjusted

oh ok, cheers, probably should try and check them out first!

Yeah if i could afford it, i would pick up a set of Dc5 Recaros and get the Subaru subframes, but im too poor , been offered a decent deal on Cobras, hence the inquiry
