Ported headers on hybrid td04 - worth it??

Is it worth porting my headers when I fit the hybrid td04?? Was looking at doing the porting myself but is it worth it? And with my wrx headers or is there any benefits in getting sti headers??

Stick with standard headers mate. I fitted ported and wrapped Harvey Smith (RiP) headers n up pipe with my hybrid td04 and the gain in spool was massive..

age for age, WRX and STi headers are basically the same (excluding the tiwn scroll JDM cars), albeit the new-age 2.0 WRX have the added "pre-cat" in the up-pipe..........

first port of call would be to fit a correctly matched up-pipe and then if budget allows port the headers

As in took longer for the turbo to spool up?
Worse for driving etc?

I think he means they decreased the spool time buddy, less lag and better for driving!

I misread it at first too :)

Oh I see, I was wondering as I'm thinking of changing to the RCM headers with venturi up pipe and I have a VF35 which I believe is a similar size turbo etc

no as in a welcome decrease in spool / response time - better drive

I'd defo recommend the ported and wrapped headers with up pipe off Alyn. Been on the rollers today and my mate gained an extra 20flt after fitting these. He mentioned to me how responsive the car is now and that was the only change in modifications since last being on the rollers a month ago.
