v1 2.1 stroker or v4?

I own a v1 Sti import and have been thinking about making it into a 2.1 stoker engine looking to produce around 600+ bhp for a couple of months now.
After looking around at other stoker builds i figure that a common head people go for is the v4 why is that??
Could i produce 600+ bhp using my v1 heads as i shall be changing the cams, valve springs etc and prob port n polish.
What problems might i run into using v1 head. injecter size ect?
will be looking to use the cosworth intake manifold will this fit on v1 heads?
If i can use my v1 it will just save me the hassle of selling it and looking for a v4 engine.

Any Help is greatly appreciated.

I suggest you get yourself into the projects section and have a good read so that you have some idea of what it is your letting yourself in for.

I'd stick with the v1 block and look into going for spec c big port heads if your serious about 600bhp.

Also what's your intended use and why 600, you do realise that it's going to cost about £20k and that's if your smart about it.
