What's your favourite thing about your Subaru?

For me, my 2003 WRX Wagon it's just a great all-rounder. It goes about it's business and can be fun when needed but functional as an Estate (helped with house move).

The only draw back is that I keep getting people trying to race me all the time but they are either ignored or blown away (if safe).

Every time I get back into my EP3 Type R the car just feels very cheap in comparison and I love that car. I've always been a multi-car owner but the Subaru has made me rethink that ethos a fair bit. I just love driving it.

How about the rest of you?

Hawkeye D 21 October 2013 02:15 PM

I like my 6 speed gearbox. Feels so mechanical and robust when changing gear.

The sorted chassis too. I drove a standard Focus ST a few months back, it just felt rubbish in comparison. Quick for sure, but not a real sense of engineering or machinery.

jameswrx 21 October 2013 02:24 PM

Bit like you really, the flexibility of it.

I'm a wagon owner too and I like the fact it's practical, reliable, not too slow, 4wd.

The hatch is a big part of the appeal for me with the car. I've owned saloons but when you live with a wagon and do tip runs, DIY runs or have kids & dogs the practical side mixed with the performance makes them very appealing.

When I think of what to replace it with, I really struggle. Only thing I can think of is a JDM hatch (for the 2.0) but I'm not going to be in a place to buy one any time soon.

I love my dump valve, stickers, neons etc.

banny sti 21 October 2013 02:30 PM

Not having one :D

Matthew Gill 21 October 2013 02:30 PM

Looks, looks are everything when buying a car just like you'd never ask a portly lass out. I'd be quite happy with a 1.6 STI rep.

I just love watching how fast my fuel gauge goes down :( lol

Markyscoob 21 October 2013 03:02 PM

Me too. Slurp. At least I try to enjoy using the fuel......

The best part of my Subaru is coming soon...Winter. Snow, pah, bring it on!

forgedmarco 21 October 2013 03:19 PM

I love how easy subarus are to drive, in comparison I had a bmw e46 and it felt like the computer was trying to do too much like anti stall etc

Raptorman 21 October 2013 05:16 PM

The smile it puts on my face every time I turn the key

I disagree people generally pour scorn on the hatch, the majority of whom have never driven one.

Nah, it's a work of art compared to the hatch :thumb: And I have drieven one several times, but regardless of that driving it doesn't make it suddenly look better!

Paben 21 October 2013 05:59 PM

Reluctantly parking it in some dark and dodgy area and finding it's still there when I come back :)

codfather 21 October 2013 06:01 PM

I love my drinks tray in my wrx wagon ;-)

Gear Head 21 October 2013 06:20 PM

Instant pick up, over taking ability, braking (yes -even of standard 4pots!), stability in all conditions and of course.........that flat four rumble.

Apart from that I can't really think of anything. :wonder:

:D

the shreksta 21 October 2013 06:41 PM

Pulling away from superbikes at 150mph and loosing them on a twisty B road :)

lordharding 21 October 2013 07:23 PM

I love the old classic looks of my Greenwagon and the rumble from the flat four
Still turns heads when I drive it once a week due to its rarety now
Quite like the old interior which makes you feel that your really driving a classic car

I love my Nismo for its looks and my new Honda Gt for its gadgets but the passion is still with my old Greenwagon

Shaunby 300 21 October 2013 07:35 PM

Love the power, nothing much short of £50,000 can keep up with it through the first 3 gears :D
Oh and being part of the scooby community :thumb:

Given you were easy prey for a Fiesta I doubt you'll break anything on a track.

stealthbomber 21 October 2013 08:51 PM

Got to be the rumble for me. I like the diversity too, the fact that one person enjoys their car for its practicality through to the big power cars and everything in between.

Rob swallow 21 October 2013 08:55 PM

Does everything a car needs to do. Takes kids to school me to work potters round town then sets your arse on fire down most back roads.
