Any house alarm experts here?

Having not had alot of sleep over the last few nights thought I would post here, issue is the house alarm keeps making chiping noises, as though its going to start screaming but it never does.

Its quite loud though and stopping everyone from sleeping, anybody know what the problem could be?

sounds like it isnt happy about something,
What model and does it have a LCD screen or any lights flashing ?

Is there any fault displayed on the alarm panel? Is the alarm mains 230v or is it a battery operated system, if so could be batteries. If it is mains it should have a battery back up check this.

As above, what model?

Sounds like a low battery, poss sensor if they are wireless.

Next door neighbour had same prob! The alarms have a battery in Incase of power cuts! Just like a fire alarm they chirp/blip when they need replacing!!

There's no flashing leds on the keypad, on the key pad itself is written "Intellisense" will see if I can find where the batery is located.

Cheers guys

entering your code twice normally resets any issues, if they have cleared.

b3nmw 11 October 2013 07:19 PM

It depends on what model but it should behind the control but take care as there is likely to be a tamper switch located on it which will active the alarm when removed. What alarm is m8 and model?

b3nmw 11 October 2013 07:21 PM

Mine was making a beeping noise for a few days so I replaced the batteries but it said on the control panel which pir s we're low. Good luck

as I said if any issues have been cleared,
Please at least read what I put if you wish to pick fault

What is chirping exactly?

The outdoor siren or the keypad/control unit?

If the outdoor siren is chirping, they often fail due to either water/moisture ingress or the backup batteries have leaked and damaged the circuit board (many use AA nicad battery packs ).
