Worth £12,000?
Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a DCCD widetrack blob and came across this: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...60-bhp/1762270# I know it's rare and in good nick with more power but is it really worth £12,000? Any thought would be very much appreciated. Richard |
the white cars command a premium as they are rare.
if it is a genuine white one from the factory then it is rare and worth a premium over a more common coloured car but 12k is still steep. i guess its how much you like white. |

To me i'd say it's worth £8.5/9k, if I really wanted a white one I might stretch to £9.5k, but £12k is taking the p!ss, i'd sooner buy one for £8k and have it colour changed for £2k and spend the other £2k on a turbo and map it to run 450bhp.;)
|
12K buys you a serious impreza these days. Its far too much money imo, they do look good in white though.
|
hurst cars had a really nice hawk jdm sti with a few nice bits for just over 12k.
id agree with 9 to 9.5k at a push |
Thanks for all the replies! Appreciate it. I'll see if I can knock them down to that price!
|
£8.5k / £9.5k tops no way would I spend £12k on it just because it's white....but it does looks well nice!
|
I'd expect a mint blobeye widetrack with a ppp or miltek/ecutek equivalent to reach £10k but adding a couple of grand because it's white wouldn't be worth it for me.
As Danny Boyyyyy says I guess it depends how much you like white! If you want one for four figures hold out for another example or put a cheeky bid of 9995 in for that one in a few weeks because chances are it'll still be there. |
Also on PH is this: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...wr-ltd/1730693
As has been said, if you like the colour, and given the rarity, it might tempt you to pay a little more than someone else would. But that one above is £1k less, rare because of the model, not the colour and with guaranteed specialist history. (A year older, more miles perhaps but still). That also makes the white one look expensive. Btw - how can anyone say/prove that only 5 were ever produced in that colour ? |

They'll never admit it.
|
They'll put a Litchfield sticker on it and all will be well £££ :p
|
And the next sale of it will also have 'resprayed Aspen White from that ghastly WRC Blue'. :D
It did go pretty quickly, so as the op's perhaps implied - was it very much less? And I agree with CrewJ - they'll never admit it. Never mind, there's hope for Litchfield owners if an 06 JDM STi is advertised at £12K. Might have to consider a respray though........ :lol1: |

why would they not admit it?, its a rare car only 7 in the uk.
you pay your money, you buy what you want. id much rather have a white car than the common wr blue |
I meant admit the price they paid.
|
New question - also £12,000! Worth it? Couple of tiny scratches but there is a large stone chip that has gone through to the metal on the roof.

Imo NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT !
RB320's - about £14-£15k. T2* Hawks - £16K-ish. In comparison, £12K for a UK STi ? I think not. |
