Elite Direct have always been cheapest for me, and it includes fitting and balancing

_Viktor 30 September 2013 08:11 PM

Honestly... try your local dealer.. chances are they will match the price from any online outlet...

+ it keeps guys in a job rather than some server + printer and 1 guy picking stock off a shelf.
if the local dealers went bust, you think the onlines would keep the same prices. ands where wuld you get them fitted.

bustaMOVEs 30 September 2013 08:18 PM

Try ears Motorsport, my tyres etc

I use Camskill, Elite, Ears and others as price varies between sizes and very often a price from the one will be matched and beaten by the other :)

Good advice and very true, who's going to fit and balance your internet tyres when the local depot has gone bust?

I have always found the same tyres at depots within 15 miles of my house that match or beat any internet price.

my brother works for a local tyre fitting company. when i bought mine from camskill i paid £121 for each tyre. i showed him the invoice and he said that the cheapest he could do it for, including his discount was £146 each.... £100 difference for 4 tyres. Im all for supporting my local companies but, come on, they should be at least slightly competitive. that said, i still paid them to fit the camskill tyres!!

53 30 September 2013 09:27 PM

My local tyre fitter said to get them from Camskill as they were never going to be able to match them and he'd fit them. Camskill are cutthroat margins but it's scales of small margins :)

Camskill are just about the cheapest, but when shopping around remember if you can't fit them yourself most tyre fitters charge high prices to fit tyres they haven't supplied.

We've just had six: four from demon Tweeks via ebay, two off Camskill.

It varied with the size of the tyre, Camskill for 235/40 18, and DT for 215/45 17.

fitting and balancing usually cost's around a tenner a tyre, I also prefer to keep a good relationship with the local tyre places, most will do punchers for free and if as i did recently you lose a weight they sort that for free too.

Anyone remember how many 24hr petrol stations there used to be, where you could get a pint of milk, packet of fags and a few cold beers after 11pm, try that where I used to live and it's a 10 mile drive now, before supermarket fuel it was a 5 min walk and there were 3 to chose from.;)

+1. I found their service exceptional. 2 tyres delivered next day for just over a fiver. Tyres were a great price too :thumb:

I don't need to worry about fitting them as we have a tyre fitter at our garage, so will give him a drink for doing the job.
