Does a non turbo need a 2nd cat for the mot
It's a 98...I know there's 2 on it, the front at the downpipe and the 2nd one undeneath....just wondered. I can get a new one for £63, or try some quick steel in the hole (about the size of a nail head)

Wasn't something changed last year in the regulations, to state if there is a factory cat, they must be present otherwise its a fail?
It should still pass with just the downpipe cat, if its nice and hot. |
I think you're probably right, I'll phone them tomorow, if it's right, I'll stick a bit of quick steel in the hole and hope for the best
It's depends on how clued up the tester is, he won't know how many cats every car has, so I'm sure it will pass with one,
Very.....so unless quick steel works, I'm fkd
My car passed it's mot with just one cat on it, it's just got the cat that's after the header pipe then it's straight through up to the exhaust.
Thing is, the 2nd one's got a hole, hence will need to try and patch it anyway
