I was there on the SES stand, great turnout (34-35 cars i think)
|
Yep, 35 cars on the SES stand in the end. Great turnout - there's some photos here:

just had a look at the pictures and the guy who had the tutu on is the mechanic who helps Duncan (dynamix) sort his car out...think he just wore it for the giggles as it was the last event.

I was there with my mate Rupert on track for both sessions having a blast about.
I had the black blob Sti with the pink wheels and rupert had the crystal grey blob Sti. Cheers Chris |
Did you have a tangle with the bloke in the fiesta st that was driving like it was a competition, watched him push quite a few people wide round corners
|
Nothing came past us in both the sessions and I do remember going past a fiesta st but weather that was the one your on about I couldn't tell you.
Cheers |
It was a red new one with tape over the plate, seemed to go past a lot of people, did see eventually an Impreza go past and leave him behind
|
Yeah that's was a new shape st as I remember reading CL at the start of the plate then it was taped over. Went by that a few laps in and never saw it again.
Cheers |

I have no idea how there were no crashes on those two public track sessions, some of the worse driving I've seen on track for a while. (Not aimed at you by the way, you car looked very good on track)

The Porsche in the Pro class had an off (slight bumper damage),The 1000bhp Focus just pulled over in the last session iirc and an Evo had a massive crash. The Legacy (reg EAT5U) was fecking awesome,no aero mods just a lot of power, got a bit wiggly sometimes but great to see. |
To be fair I even thought in the first session and when the pace car pulled in, it just turned into carnage.
I've been doing track days for the best part of 6 years mainly up castle combe and I thought this seemed gnarly for the first half a dozen laps till the pack split up(and I love loads of cars out). Just what amazed me was that in briefing it stated overtaking on the left only, you found people hugging left and you had to go past on the right just to get by as they never see you. It seems funny at the time but could so easily cause big crashes. Cheers |
Seeing five cars trying to get through a corner only wide enough for two was amusing when watching, but wouldn't have wanted to be out there.
|
i was out on track in a classic that decided to spin a shell :-(
|
i was there with another BABS member but couldnt get enough interest to have a stand but it was a good day anyway, there was one incident at Paddock hill where a black Escort lost it and was lucky it didnt dig in or he would have rolled it,i must admit it looked a bit hairy at times lol
|
I felt sorry for the driver of the wide-arch Mk2 Golf, obviously faster than the cars in front of him but no one would let him past.
