8 pot D2 pad advice please :)

Just bought the car (p reg classic import) and find the brakes to be a bit ish (wooden). So I'm led to believe the d2 kit comes with their own pads and discs(330mm)? The discs are good so just after pads, it's got braided lines on. Previous cars I've tried all sorts, ebc yellowstuff, ds2500, rc5+ etc but these have all been on clios which is obviously a lighter car. Car is a daily but looking at doing track days in it, the next at oulton on the 16th of November. Been recommended to try the ds2500 or the pf ones but just wondered what anyone else thought too :). Cheers guys

Dan.

the PFC z-rated pads are very good value for money and will cope with both fast road and track use generally

imprezaworks 27 September 2013 08:37 AM

Thanks for the reply :). Will they be ok to go the current discs? I know in an ideal world you should change the set but the discs are fine. Do you guys stock them and if so how much? Thank you

as long as the discs are flat/true and in good condition with no odd wear characteristics then its simply a "qwik fit" type of up-sell to suggest both at the same time..............

normally in stock and around £130inc./delivered on an SN deal

Yeah the discs look fine. Will probably give you a buzz later on :)

Yes they are , the K sport and D2 calipers are made by the same people in the same factory.

Just check the PF pads as someone else had an issue with these being too thick to fit this setup , they use the same pads as the AP 6 pot calipers , but the AP pads are 18mm thick where as the pads for the D2 need to be 17mm I believe

We can also supply various pads for these calipers , EBC , Ferodo , Mintex , PF , Pagid ect ect

Cheers Ian

As above Z-Rated pads are very nice pad for day to day driving and will cope with occasional track days

K-Sport/D2 using same shape pads like AP 6pots(CP5070D54,CP5070D51) just must be 17mm thick, yes you can use too 18mm but yours discs must be worn

Pads which will fit above mentioned AP will fit K-Sport/D2 8pots callipers

Anything has to be better than the ones the kit comes with.

For the K sport and D2 kits the 54mm wide pad is the correct one , the 51mm pads do fit but will not touch 3mm of the disc so you will lose braking power

Cheers Ian

So in a nutshell will the performance friction pad fit into the d2 caliper and work like it should?
