Ooo la la French toy inbound

After reading about how fun these little things are, thought i'd treat myself to this little weekend car. Will literally use it for hooning around and maybe the odd trackday.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...ps4d799233.jpg

Picked it up at the weekend and just spent the last hour around some B roads, oh my the grip they have is literally unbelievable. Has the standard Michelin PS3 tyres on and they just grip and grip. Some of the corner speeds were amazing, a lot more comfortable than my scoob even with 4wd and Coilovers. I can finally argue to any other more powerful car owner "i'll have you in the twisties" ha ha

Bodywork and interior in great condition, only a couple of marks on the alloys. May end up changing these for Turini's (you know how much I love these) Car has both cup packs, been serviced every year on the dot by dealers first then Rentech. Got so many invoices in the folder including the original sale and there's even one in there for £2!

Will probably stick and exhaust on it at some point and maybe a CAI, but in general nothing to much

Think im going to go out for another blast :luxhello:

Lovely mate, I have hovered over a few buy it now buttons in the last few months :)

frayz 17 September 2013 01:08 PM

Turinis are a good choice, I have them on both my cars.

PS3s are also great but if you fit some Federal RSRs or R888s the grip levels go up a whole lot more. These a seriously quick when driven properly and I'm confident is quicker in the corners than my Impreza.
I've embarrassed some much more powerful machinery in mine both on the road and track.

Superb car, love I to bits. Genuinely more fun to drive than a 570bhp Impreza!

Cant believe how cheap these are really, being a 55 plate on of the last ones, only a couple of grand. Was looking at EP3's aswell but they are 3k+ and didn't want to spend that much.

One thing that shocked me are the rattles, or lack of in my case. Thought bits would be lose all over place but seemingly not. I am aware being French it could **** itself at anytime though lol

I find it quite comfortable aswell, only weird thing is the clutch peddle when depressed, my toes sometime rub the steering rack (I think), but that's just something to get used to IMO. Will look at tyres Frayz, fronts are only 4k old but rears a bit older. Rear pad advisory on last MOT so will be looking around for these shortly. I heard Brembo discs and DS2500 pads? All your ravings on here about them convinced me to seriously look at these

I bought the little stand alone RS Tuner and 98RON map from here; http://www.fastchip.nl/index.php?opt...hk=1&Itemid=26

connect it via the OBD port and you can flash your ECU...to my shame I also bought the over-run map but it's aweful so am just running the 98RON map. Makes the idle nicer as it riases it by a couple of hundred rpm, loose the flat spot at 5200 as well. Am thinking if selling mine now although am in half a mind to get a custom map as I have a full decat and carbon airbox :)

Happy to take you out if you want to see the difference :thumb:

Anybody hooning down the M11 southbound, around 0610, went off at the Harlow junction, it was a blue 54 plate:thumb:

bloke selling some turini's on cliosport. Got him down to £250 for the set. Few marks on them but nothing 2 bad. He said newly new T1R's on front and Bridgestones 3-4mm on rear. Soooo tempted. If I can get them for £200 I will take them

Bargain as my 18" Turinis were best part of £1600 new!

Cup or Trophy offset?

I've got a set of 15" F1s to get refurbed and slap on...super cheap rubber ;)

You guys aren't alone in raving about these little beauties:

trails 20 September 2013 03:34 PM

He says Trophy with I understand are a higher offset hence don't look as wide?

I've made him a ridiculous offer TBH, as i'm in no rush to change. I quite like the standard alloys and the tyres I have are much better than what come with the Turinis. He said he will hang out for a bit more and will get back to me if no interest. He may find my ridiculous offer becomes even more so lol

I think the 172 Cup is 37 and the 182 Trophy 43 :thumb:

I had mark fish go over the car when I got her. but basically any work needed doing on it I've done it myself at zaks.
changed my injectors on my drive in half an hour...Subaru-4 days lol.

I know mark fish has years of knowledge with Renault and Clio's. he also prepped and maintained a racing rs megane. so you cant go wrong there.:thumb:

I know rs tuning in Leeds is were everybody travels to for mapping for the rs megane. engine dynamics in Witham map/chip Clio's and rs meganes. and Tour de force in Huntingdon use an rs type map so I believe.

I keep saying Ill get mine done. but have never got round to it..
