My concern would be the blocking of the airflow. Thus reducing the cooling effect.

A light dusting of silver wouldn't do any harm at all. Blocking airflow would take a pretty large amount of paint. I'm a fridge engineer and we spray the condensers and evaporators with an acrylic paint so they are easier to clean next time round. Doesn't affect them at all and they are airflow critical.

Just use normal aerosol paint buddy.

i wouldnt paint it due to it holding the heat inside the core, probably a light dusting wont do a lot but the paint will chip easily and look a bigger mess than before you started in no time.
fit it and chuck a black grill over it. |
Light dusting of etch primer and then some satin black:thumb:

Painting it probably wont cause issues but stone chips will after a while.
