classic impreza fault code

Hi there

I performed a self diagnostic check on my classic as the engine management light Is on and I'm having boosting issues.

Fault code 45 came up which according to a website a found is a pressure sensor, I was basically wondering what the pressure sensor would be, where I would find it etc?

Cheers

It's the MAP (manifold pressure) sensor. It is found on a bracket which is mounted to the drivers side (RHD car) inner wing up near the top of the strut along with the boost solenoid and ignitor.

Ah my main problem here seems to be there's ababsolutely no vaccum pipes connected to that part, any idea where there meant to go?

Can u take a photo of what boost solenoid u have? Might be two or three port. Have a google for impreza boost solenoid and there are some pictures of them and where the vac pipes go. I can take photos tomorrow of mine if you have a two port!

That would be excellent thanks, I can't manage to get pictures today but it is a two port solenoid that's on it, I put the engine in the car myself and got it running but it's the vaccum pipes I've had problems with, if u could show me how yours is connected that would great along with the pipe to the one on top of the boost solenoid, thing it's the manifold pressure one?

Thabks

Happy days, same as mine. I'll take a couple of snaps later. It's pissing down outside at the moment!

I have a blitz boost controller on mine at the moment, but I'll be able to show you where the original pipes should go.

Yes, that's the MAP sensor. That can literally be connected straight to the manifold if needs be but it normally connects near the boost solenoid.

Yeah that would be brilliant thanks, I'm considering getting a boost controller at some point anyways so that would also be handy to know about for the future

Cheers

Did you have any luck with those photos? The 3 pieces from the manifold seem to have pipes going to other hard pipes already?
