Galaxy Gear

Looks like an iPod.

andy97 04 September 2013 07:46 PM

I liked it, worth a try :). So that is three Samsung devices on preorder 2x Galaxy Note3, 1 Galaxy Gear :D

LSherratt 04 September 2013 08:03 PM

I think that when touch screen watches come out which are able to run apps, etc, then technology has gone too far.

Seriously, only complete b3llends would wear a watch like that. Watches should have automatic mechanical movements, not the latest chipset....

ScoobyDoo555 04 September 2013 10:01 PM

Meh. IF I wanted to look like a complete nerd, and HAD to have this type of gadget, I think I'd go for the Sony one, as it's better.

BUT I find the whole thing tacky.

LSherratt 04 September 2013 10:27 PM

These watches will be such a flop, I can't see them making money. You heard it here first.

Boro 05 September 2013 12:01 AM

Samsung Smart Watch

Think it'll be normal normal to wear something like this in 1-2 years?

Spoon 05 September 2013 12:18 AM

Been wearing one for the last 8 months although not Samsung. Informs me of calls, texts, emails, weather......

Saves touching the phone anywhere near as much.

bioforger 05 September 2013 12:21 AM

Agreed, just another gimmick.

That's at least 50 sales to Scoobynet NSR posters then ;)

I bet you've pre-ordered 5

LSherratt 05 September 2013 07:58 AM

No. There's a thread like this in the technology section. Anyone who wears a touch screen smart watch is a b3llend. Watches should be automatic mechanical, not have the latest chipset...

Think its more to do with fashion these days, not about craftsmanship. The youngsters will probably go for it...

Experienced words indeed from someone who has just discovered karts! :lol1:

My Smartwatch, albeit not touchscreen, is a great tool as an extension to my phone tucked away. You can quite easily prioritise when to bother going for your phone or not.

scooby1doo1 05 September 2013 09:34 AM

What's the battery life going to be like, sure it will need charging every day.

Does your phone not make a sound to attract your attention - most do.

ditchmyster 05 September 2013 09:58 AM

Cool, want one.

I used to love Joe 90.:D

hux309 05 September 2013 10:08 AM

Looks like an ipod to me ;)

Nope, the phone is always on vibrate as all my phones have been for 29 years. The watch then vibrates on your wrist and it is powerful, much more so than modern phone vibration.

29 years, are you sure? I reckon you've got your dates mixed up a bit.
As far as I'm aware you couldn't have "vibrate" on a mobile phone 29 years ago. The only mobile network around then was the system 4, used for car phones.
The first hand held mobile phone network started Jan 1985. Even so, I don't think "vibrate" was an option till much later.

I did mean mobile phones for that length of time but as for vibrate, as soon as it was available. Never been a fan of ringtones. My dad had a car phone before that where an operator forwarded the calls, often a day later. :freak3:

stevebt 05 September 2013 01:23 PM

I think you will look a right wanker wearing one of these. Its reminds me of over twenty years ago when iI got my first mobe phone, none of my friends or even that many peoe had one and the stick i used to get over the phone. This watch will be right up there on the ahopping list of peoe who say bought google glasses ffs.

JackClark 05 September 2013 01:28 PM

All the people on here saying you'll look a tosser wearing one, will wear one in two years time after Apple have perfected it and Samsung have copied it.

Nope, I'd rather stick to my rolex :thumb: :Whatever_

Carlh 05 September 2013 02:22 PM
