Help needed with fitting Sparco Pro 2000 seat.
Hi.
I've just bought a Sparco seat that came with OMP side mounts (previously fitted to Ford Focus). Could you tell me please what do I need to fit this seat to my Classic ? Due to wife is using the car as well it has to retain the sliders like OEM seat. This seat is side and base mounted. Can I use sliders from my old seat ? I've found a website sportseats4you.co.uk that make subframes for Sparco seats but it is advertised for models 2001-2007. Are these subframes same fitment as Classics ? http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/...psbe5813e0.jpg http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/...psd9de46bb.jpg Thank You |
Hi there
You should be able to use OMP sliders as OMP and Sparo/Recaro have similar or same pattern for fixing the seats If not then you will need something like floor mounted subframe(I think OMP selling one) or if you want have adjustability then Buddy Club is most used and we are using too Buddy Club For best prices speak to Alyn@AS Performance Jura |
Hi Jura.
Is there any chance I could use my old fixings ? I mean just bolt them to the new seat ? |
I've found this website http://www.japshop.co.uk/acatalog/co...u_Seating.html that sell buddy club rails but they are advertised as for side mounted seats only. Do you know if I could get same kit for base mounted ?
My seat is side and base mounted but I think base would be better option as car is fitted with the roll cage already so it would be lower sitting position. |

I'm not 100% sure, but think this is not possible just due fixing of the seat is different Best way to have and retain at least some adjustabilty is to have Buddy club seat rails(Bride selling one too,but Buddy Club is probably best on the market) Jura |
Jura, what do you think about this one http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pag...product=430473 ?
Plus £28 Sparco runners from EBay |

Plus £28 Sparco runners from EBay Not sure, but difference between the New age and classic seats is not big, think if you want to fit new age seats in classic you will need redrill one extra hole, but this shouldn't be problem for you Similar "issue" can be difference in this mounting subframe, which can be easily sorted About the Buddy club for base mounted seats, not sure there,I've never investigate this.I think Bride have or selling this type of the subframe/rails,think model is Type MO If this car is only for you, then base mounted seat should be OK,but problem can be if someone else want to use this car, then you can have few problems Jura |
As I said at the beginning, wife is using the car as well and she is much smaller than me so sliders are the only option I'm afraid.
Basically in OEM seat my head is quite close to the roll cage so I'm a bit scared that fitting the new seat on side mounts will only make it worse :-( I think I'll get two seats next to each other on the floor, sit in both and check if there is any difference in height. Then I'll have rough idea what to do. Thanks a lot Jura. |
