My hawk progress thread

Well some of you may remember my bugeye progress thread here

https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...ck-bugeye.html

Well I decided to bite the bullet and get myself a sti the bug was sold to a member on here who was over the moon with it and this came up for sale from a member on here I went to have a look yesterday the deal was done and I'm now the proud owner of a hawk sti :D

Spec as followed

Full tsl exhaust (receipt of purchase says £995 )
Cosworth head gasket and arp bolts to prevent further failure
Ecutek ecu remapped to 338 bhp and nearly 400 ftlb of torque
Perrin 3 port boost solenoid
Uprated fuel pump
Cdf rear arb and front and rear drop links
Tein coil overs
There are a Few more bits that I've probably forgot about lol

The difference between this and the bug are massively different feels so much smoother and the power is obviously a big improvement lol the diff is taking some getting used to as it can be quite worrying when on full lock or parking and you get it knocking lol thought something was broke till I read up on here lol

Future plans are change the rear lights to some blob eye ones and change the colour of the wheels just need to decide on colour and just give it some general maintenance discs and pads and service etc power wise I'm completely happy it's more than fast enough for me and its at safe level as we all know what the engines on these are like if they are pushed to much lol I've only really took a few pics as been to busy enjoying it and using loads of fuel lol like my last thread I will keep making updates on here every time anyway here are the pics there was a thread made in members gallery of mine and my friends p1 that he took some pics of if you want a nosey

Looks great pal and hate to be a spoil sport but it's not really pushing these engines that's the problem it's the chocolate pistons(ringlands) they all within reason seem to let go before roughly the 40-50,000 mark once forged though they are mega :D

craigybaby 25 August 2013 08:46 PM

Well this has done 70k and still going strong the engine was recently took apart to have the gaskets done and pistons were inspected and didn't show any signs of wear so fingers crossed she holds on for a few more thousand lol cheers for the comments guys lol

Well did my first mod today got rid of those god aweful rear lights and installed some blobeye items looks much fresher imo I have no idea what Subaru were thinking when they fitted those things I think they must of been rubbing shoulders with lexus lol

here are the lights

LVC 04 October 2013 06:17 PM

Very nice - just needs some silvertech indicator bulbs to get rid of the orange in the rear lights IMHO ;)

craigybaby 04 October 2013 06:19 PM

Agreed it's on my to to list lol

LVC 04 October 2013 06:28 PM

You'll have fun with the front ones - I've done the same mod as you (STi8 lights on the rear of a black hawk) but the silvertech bulbs for the front are still in their packet - way too many things to remove to gain access ... a really stupid design from Subaru (again).

M2RTXhawkeye 04 October 2013 09:54 PM

Looks so much better Craig, if you want to take the boot badge off send it my way lol

Martin

All sounds expensive lmfao hmmm dunno really thinking about getting it remapped again so I can fit a cone filter I hate having no noise from the front also the exhaust is really quiet but it's a £1000 exhaust seems a shame to change it lol

craigybaby 12 October 2013 11:41 AM

took the car to arden bridge services this morning for a inspection and oil change as ive done 1k since the issue i had and i also had a small weap from the rear diff turns out the drain plug hadnt been done up properly so that was tightened and topped up oil and filter change and she is still running like a dream techys had a good look and all seems fine car is still running 110% so im a happy man :) took a few pics last week aswell so may aswell post them up lol

Looking good!!!:thumb:

Looks exactly like mine at the moment, Black 06 hawk sti, with gold standard rims, blobeye rears:thumb:.

Did a few cheap mods to my car, like Type RA-R red pin stripe the grill, cut my standard number plate down so doesnt look to big, and I de-badged my rear tailgate of WRX and STi badges!!!

But got a garage full of parts that are waiting to go on mine like 18x 9,5inch Rota grids powdercoated gloss black, v-limited splitter, blobeye rear tailgate(no badge in centre)

LUCKO 15 October 2013 08:44 PM

whats the Tein suspension like??
