HPI CHECK - Does this sound bad?
I've just agreed a price for a new car, but on doing an HPI check it came back all clean on every section except:
Insurance Write-off: This vehicle may be recorded as a write off, however, as it has undergone a plate transfer further investigation is required, please call 0844 482 1950 Now, I'll call them in the morning and find out, but I won't sleep tonight wondering!!!! Has anyone had this, heard about or seen this before? :freak3: |
Yep, on more than one occassion.
You'll probably find it's had a cherised numberplate on there at some point and that same plate has been on a car previously that HAS bee written off. They'll need all the details from the V5, etc to do a proper check though, not just the registration number. |
I can see it's had 2 private plates as well as the original plate which is on the car now.
Getting hold of the log book before I go to collect the car isn't going to happen, I'm too far away sadly!!! |
I got the bottom of it :D
A private plate was added to this car, it came off a written off car. All is good again :D |
Did HPI tell you that or the owner?
