Catch can location
 

I'm looking at fitting my OBP catch can, and the best place I can find is the nearside suspension turret of my 05 STi.
What I want to do is remove the screen washer bottle and run the screen washers off the I/C spray pump in the boot which is redundant with a FMIC. Trouble is a quick lash up showed the I/C pump to be very weak as a screen wash pump.
My question is this, is the windscreen washer pump a direct swap for the I/C spray pump?
Any help appreciated.

could you not put the whole windscreen wash bottle and pump in the boot then use the hoses for i/c spray?

The IC spray is attractive because it's already fitted and wired. If I move the washer bottle it will need mounting & wiring.

its the same pump steve, I swapped out mine when the windscreen one failed.
ill take a pic of my catch can now as you just reminded me :)

use the i/c button for spray, my catch can is where the secondary pump used to be

that's where mine is too, the blobs don't have the secondary pump anyway.

That's the ideal location for the can ( next to fuse cover )
( I still have my I/c spray - fitted a larger pump - & using 2 jets sitting inside bumper behind the zunsport grille / very efective & comes out at some rate :)

I made a bracket (about 20cm of metal bar with a hole drilled in each end ) you can use the hole that holds on the fuel pipe.

its a tight fit and I doubt if you can locate it where I have if your returning to sump.
but I haven't returned to sump and I need to empty it about once a month.

the breather is routed down the firewall and under the car with a filter on.

As said I did try the I/C pump for windscreen wash and it was pretty poor. I'll try swapping the pumps and see what improvement there is.

are you trying to use the ic tank in the boot to wash the screen??

id say it wont work due to length of pipe work, it would lose a lot of pressure travelling that distance

Yeah that was the idea, but you may well be right about the pipe length being a problem.

I have relocated my w/screen bottle to the boot and haven't had any issues with weak pressure? Maybe the pump is a little tired?

well im only guessing it may be a problem, sounds like its not then

I think I've got it sorted.
I ran in a new pipe from the I/C spray to the washer jets.
Bingo! Plenty of flow, just have to remember to push the right button for a clean screen. :D
