Awesome steering wheel recover
Just wanted to mention a great service I have had from Jack at www.royalsteeringwheels.com
I had my 2006 WRX wheel recovered in perforated leather and alcantara and was knocked out by the results - it's a top job and cost £135 inc postage. This way you don't lose the factory airbag and get a easy swap with no complications. He sends you a finished wheel and you swap it with your old one, posting the old wheel back to him within 7 days to get back a £50 deposit. https://www.scoobynet.com/picture.ph...ictureid=24572 |

Great to hear, already heard good things about them, planning on getting mine done next payday. |
Can't fault his service or his workmanship Dan - takes about a week and his communication is pretty good too. He's a Polish guy, operating from home in Aylesbury by the looks but apparently its a family business and he and his Dad worked on Premier League cars back home.
Makes a big difference to the way the wheel handles and feels. |
That looks stunning, though I reckon I'd go for perforated leather all around.
|
Looks brilliant, Like the alcantara.
Good idea too on the exchange system, saves having to wait for your wheel to come back. Might give it some thought as to a style I'd like. |
Wow love that big time. My Blobeye was boring so swapped it for an earlier model steering wheel but now i have another option. Cheers for that mate
|
That looks superb!
The price you say was £135 inc postage, but when you send your old wheel back you get £50 deposit back, does that come off the £135? Or is it £135+50 deposit? |
Looks pretty good.
The link to them won't connect for me. |
does for me
|
And me.
|
You reckon they would do an OEM 6speed gearknob in the perforated leather too? My wheel and knob are both looking a bit shiny :D
|
That looks superb. How much grief in involved in changing the steering wheel/airbag over??
|
Looks like a very good job.
Might have to consider getting mine done. |
wow, looks amazing! as above, what is the total wallet damage?
|
ordered mine yesterday :)
|
Nice work on the wheel, they are almost as good as me
|
I wunder if a v3 sti nardi steeringwheel Can be made like that , and maybe made a bit thicker , more like a newer steeringwheel ,
Anyone ? /Skassa |
Nardi
Yep, he can do all that, just email him and tell him what u want, probably be about 130 quid all in. He's damn good.

How does the alcantara wear? Is it better than suede?
Not sure whether to do full alcantara or part? Anyone else with pics of theirs done by Royal Steering wheels? |

Goody. How long does the process take, few weeks?
What have you gone for style wise? he does it within a week, mine was slightly delayed due to him being on holiday. he is sending me the new wheel this week and I return my old one and he refunds you the £50 deposit to avoid having no wheel. I have gone for the same as the wheel in first post. |
Fast workmanship then. Its a good set up too, swopping wheels over.
Your chosen style seems to be the ideal choice, should get more grip and feel with the alcantara sides. Not sure whether is have the coloured centre band yet? |
i spotted this thread a while back and decided id go for it so heres my experience of the company.
i emailed jack enquiring about the recovering of the wheel, he emailed straight back with a price and delivery time. i paid for the wheel and £50 deposit as it was done on a return basis so as not to have a car with no steering wheel. the new wheel arrived the exact day he said it would and was of amazing quality, i returned my old wheel by recorded delivery and just checked online and it was signed for by jack at 1pm and the refund of my deposit was back in my paypal account within the hour. its very nice to have such a good experience of a company,i admit i was dubious of the low price but i shouldnt have as the quality is amazing. +100 for royal steering wheels im thinking he may get very busy soon. http://i890.photobucket.com/albums/a...psf3b040b4.jpg |
Both these wheels looks brilliant....so good infact I have ordered one. So far so good with the communication from Jack.
They are easy enough to change the wheels aren't they? No need for a steering wheel puller? |

They are easy enough to change the wheels aren't they? No need for a steering wheel puller? also get some one to hold the clock spring on the steering column otherwise it will unravel and cause major headaches. id unplug the battery for an hour first just for the airbag to be safe before you disconnect it. |
They look cracking may have to order one myself cheers guys

Does the clock spring come off too? Are you just holding it to take the tension off it?
