favorite tool in your tool box

If you had to bolt and could take only one tool from your tool box what would it be ?

For me it's my Mac 1/4 socket set. I bought it quite a few years ago and it cost a small fortune. But over the years it really is the most used out of all my tools.

xcore 02 August 2013 09:57 PM

Surely tool is singular so sets don't count? :p

As I'm a plumber I'd say my bahco adjustable spanner!

gazney101 02 August 2013 09:57 PM

cster 02 August 2013 10:06 PM

Cryers elevator.
The last tool in the box when nothing else will do the job!

JonMc 02 August 2013 10:08 PM

3lb lump hammer - slightly more versatile than my angle grinder but can be used to fix most things:D

Swedge 03 August 2013 03:13 AM

13mm spanner, it's the most used spanner i have lol

The Sheep Worrier 03 August 2013 08:56 AM

My short handled, wide Jawed adjustable Ergo Bahco spanner, as someone had said above, being a plumber the amount of ****e this tool has got me out of is unvelievable, it would be like loosing an arm if i lost this little fella.

A close second comes a recntly purchased Milwaukee 18v li-ion impact driver, drill and cordless radio. Ive used a lot of cordless kit on site (including Hilti) and this mileaukee stuff kicks shot out of the rest!

Well i figured because the set is all in one compact box i could grab it in an instant rather than search the tool box for all the bits. But yeah i probably cheated just a little :lol1:

Some interesting suggestion here. Its funny how we have particular favourite tools no matter how many you have or the size of your toolbox. Loads of tools just sit there just in case one day you need them, but there is always one that gets used almost daily.

For years I used to struggle with a hacksaw whenever I wanted to cut a bit of plastic water piping, but I've now got a special pipe cutter and it has literally made jobs like that 10 times easier. :) I don't need to use it very often, but when I do it's there.

Oldun 03 August 2013 10:21 AM

Being a Honda owner, I don't need to use tools. :)

dpb 03 August 2013 10:36 AM

You need someone younger to wield the spanner ?

Oldun 03 August 2013 10:38 AM

I wouldn't mind a young female wielding my tool. :)

Oldun 03 August 2013 12:18 PM

I do miss my Scooby though, that really was a full time hobby.

Plenty of toolbox use then :)
