I'll have to get you on speed dial when I start mine Micky - the fuel rails piece I am happy with, but the guides on removing the evap piece and the carbon cannister aren't as clear. My new inlet will have all of the evap vents welded shut and I'll get the solenoid CEL faults mapped out, but I'm still confused about the pipework that routes back to the carbon cannister under the boot floor and evap circuit return on the fuel rails that I'll not be refitting after the fuel rail mod:wonder:

Where's a good place to buy braided lines with -6 AN fittings?
Alex at Torques Products is a good start. He supplied Ryan all of his stuff for the Prodriverules makeover:thumb:

Do you not just need to spin the rails by 180 degrees and then the holes will line up - I reckon you could also spin the injectors if you want the connectors coming out to the side rather than to the top:wonder:
No mate, tried that first lol.
They're definately classic rails - the newage ones are different, so can't see why they shouldn't fit:wonder:
They fit onto an old V1 manifold I have, so must be V1-V2.
Can you re-drill them - it only needs a couple of holes:thumb:
Just seen your pm, our adapter plates will only fit our rails i'm afraid mate .. sorry,. i'll post a pic when i get a set
If you get stuck you can send me those rails and i'll modify them to fit. |
Thanks :thumb: I'll have a little think about what to do next.
I've had another look at this and the manifold. Following the bolt holes with the rails "upside down" they line up with 2 markings on the manifold between the original rail threads and the slots for the manifold to head bolts. If I drilled and heli coiled the manifold at these points the rails would hold to the manifold or does everyone think I'm an idiot to even consider this?
Why do you need to helicoil it, surely you could just drill and tap the manifold. As long as you don't compromise the air tight seal you'll be fine - the manifolds are quite thick so strength won't be an issue:thumb:

Not a bad idea mate .
Use a centre drill then drill them 6.5 as it will most likely cut over size then tap m8 |
