Advantage of battery relocation?

Afternoon!

Just wondering what the benefit of relocating your battery to the boot is please? Or is it just be different?

Thanks! Adam

Isn't it just for weight distribution purposes?

better weight distribution
takes weight away from the front and puts it at the back reducing under steer a little
(watch out for increased lift off over steer though)

And gives room for stuff in the engine bay too, intercooler pipes etc! Makes it easier to work around no need to disconnect the battery and removie it when you want to work in the engine bay etc

Quite a few BMWs have a boot mounted battery to help achieve 50:50 weight distribution.

My E60 does though I've yet to figure out where it is :lol1:

My old E30 325i did too. Made the ICE install much simpler with respect to running power to the amplifier in the boot. Fcuked the 50:50 weight distribution though once there was a 300W amplifier and a sub fitted in there :lol1:

This is the main reason I did mine - I now have room for my oil catch can:norty:
