Light Weight Flywheel differences?

I'm looking for a light weight flywheel for my 6 speed and there seems to be quite a few different options out there.

Are there any real differences between all the different makes, or is it just go with what you feel comfortable with?

I have an ACT clutch, so ideally I would like the ACT flywheel to go with it, but there are cheaper versions that are the same weight, although seem unbranded.

Should there be much difference between billet aluminium or steel? I know that I want one piece ones after seeing a fidanza one fall apart, but beyond that, am I just paying for a name, or do they all do the same thing? :wonder:

there can be a massive difference in quality............not sure i would want a "far eastern" poorly made product doing 7000+RPM inches from my legs!!

Admittedly I wasnt looking at anything too dodgy, more on the likes of Lateral Performance and Aztec etc, they both list light weight flywheels, but don't name a brand. (unless they're made in house) One says made by a market leading manufacturer, but that's not much of a clue.

Obviously being reputable sources, I would expect them to be of reasonable quality, but at least if I get something with ACT on the box then I know what I'm getting..

and yes, point taken on not wanting cheap eastern tat in there! :D

my local club member is a cnc machinest and lightens the oem flywheels down to 6.5 kgs, i fitted one to my car just this week with an exedy pink box and its spot on.
also a LOT cheaper than lateral etc
