bulb types

Hi could someone please confirm that dipped and high beam bulbs are h4 and fogs h3 for my blobeye o4 impreza wrx sportwagon ? Also 501 side lights? Would be gratefull thanks

You are right afaik on the sides and fogs, but I'm pretty sure that blobeye headlights use two, single-filament bulbs, which H4 are not.

Probably H1 and H7?

Hi There,
Thy should be H4 for dipped and main, and H3 for fog's. Take a look at this website:

You sure, mate? I thought the Bugeye was the last of the H4 bulbs....

Hi,

I think that you will find that it has an H3 bulb fitted to your fog lamp, H1 is dipped beam & the main beam bulb is an HB type. :thumb:

It says on top of the headlight for dipped and high, think its h1 and hb3??

ScrappyDooDoo 07 August 2013 07:51 PM

Probs best to take them out, H4's have 3x prongs on the base, H7's have 2x prongs on the base, H1 just 1x prong. Unusual to see HB3 in 2004 mind you - usually 2008 onwards HB3. But best to take them out and check mate.

W5w sidelights and fogs should be h3

Just checked my manual its hb3 in my 03 blob wrx and I've checked all bulbs in last couple weeks as I installed smd sidelights and nightbreaker bulbs

Ok, Let's clarify a couple of things...

A 2004 wrx definitely does NOT have an H4 bulb fitted anywhere in it's lighting system... The Subaru parts program (and my memory) tells me that all Impreza's stopped using the H4 bulb in 2002..

It also tells me that you definitely have an H1 bulb fitted for dip beam & an H3 bulb fitted in the factory approved fog lamps (this has never changed since their introduction to this country in 1994/5)...

The only question mark is over which bulb is used for main beam.... It is classed as an "HB" type of bulb, but there are various versions of this, and you have an HB3 fitted if it's a European version. :thumb:
