Headers and up pipe
Just looking for you're thoughts on headers and up pipes when thinking maximum spool? I'm thinking standard headers ported would be best on a 2.5
|
Depends on what power and what turbo. Mine runs a 2.5 with a HS TD05 20g. Harvey advised I could go with ported headers or tubular at that level. He had some tubulars going cheap, so I went with those.
WHICHEVER you get, have a word with Alyn at AS Performance and ask for a Harvey up-pipe...the better spool is noticeable. |
Well I'm going 18G I read that you don't need to consider the tubular headers unless you're going for the 400hp mark and at that they can still reduce spool. So that's what made me think porting the standard ones. Everyone does rave about the trick up pipe. Do you do get that in standard fitment? Or do you need to get the GT spec headers?

Standard fitment for Harvey trick up pipe. Try and get some used Harvey ported headers too ;-) bit hard to come by, but they do come up for sale. I manged to get a good set. Worth the waiting and hunting and small extra cost IMO

I run std header but ported myself and a std up pipe on my 2.5 runs at around 460bhp 500 ft/lbs
