Cooling I/C spray water

Hi all

I have my first track day booked for the 2nd and 3rd August at Le Mans. I was wondering, is it possible and is it worth adding cool packs to the intercooler water spray bottle so that it sprays cold water onto the intercooler?

At the moment, the previous owner wired up the intercooler water spray to the dump valve hose via a pressure switch so that it activates when under boost. I was thinking if it is worth buying some of these ( ) and chucking them in the bottle to cool the water and thereby cooling the intercooler some more.

So, good idea or bad idea?

I guess the cooler the water the better, but would it make that much of a difference I'm insure.

Iam also keen to know the actual benefits...

I guess we need the mechanics in here haha.

I'd simply use a mixture of alcohol and water. probably more effective

Sounds like taking a dustpan and brush to an earthquake site tbh.
