Recommendations for autotecnica an prosport

Hi

I have a spec c hawkeye v ltd and I'm based in North Wales. I am looking at a subaru specialist to service my car within a couple of hours to me.
I've come across pro sport in Stockport and autotecnica in Buxton, anyone with first hand experiences and recommendations? The reviews that I have seen to date seem positive.

Thanks

Dave

I take my hawk spec c type 20 to Adam at Autotechnica.
I've been going for years and never had any issues.

Hi mate. I have used both of these since buying my car in December.

Firstly used prosport for a 60k service and had discs an pads fitted all round ... £900 !! And I supplied the discs and pads. And they had the car or about 4 days. I tried to get booked in for a remap and after almost 3moths of getting fobbed off I have up. That was my experience ... I have no issues with the quality of the work etc but it was very expensive and they were shocking at getting back to me.

I twn contacted autotecnica who rang me back within 15mins and had me booked in for a remap as parts fitting to go with it the following Friday. Dropped the car off Thursday so they could for the pump / exhaust, they called me dinner time Friday and it had been mapped and was ready to collect. I've since been back to have the car lowered, same again booked in easily and they had the car done in a day. I've just been back to have a md321h turbo fitted and mapped. Same story again , booked in nice and easy , faultless work and collected the car the Friday afternoon. I can't recommend them enough! They are really good on price aswell. Prosport is about 10mins away from me but I make a hour trip to go to them and they're the only place I will you use now.

Hope that helps .. Chris :-)

Thanks for the feedback. Certainly from looking at Autotecnica's gallery they primarily work on impreza's. For obvious reasons I had noticed the pictures of your type 20 and another hawk spec c.
I've had a timing belt kit and new plugs on mine at the end of last year so this next service will only be changing all the oils again. This was done by a garage called Blue Bridge in Queensferry who are an approved Subaru service centre. They also have links with a company called group b Motorsport.
They are re locating to Wrexham now hence I fancy using a subaru specialist.

Ironically I've got a trip to Litchfields next week to fit a RCM fuel pump and then Bob Rawle is going to tweak the current EcuTek map.
Out of interest are you still running the standard spec c fuel pump on yours? As my car is pretty much the same spec as a standard type 20 apart from the suspension.

Cheers

Dave

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like autotecnica is the one to go for.

Still on Spec C fuel pump as far as I'm aware.
I know that these have been run at well over 400bhp with no issues.
Adam's prices are very good as he has no fancy workshop or reception to pay for.
He's worked on Subaru's for years and will treat your car as his own.

Litchfield's originally sold it and mapped it along with some other work to a previous owner and I've been more than happy with the way it goes.
I got talking to Bob Rawle and expressed that I want to do the odd track day with it and he recommended upgrading the fuel pump and then check the map over after fitting.
I know he's got a very good reputation when it comes to mapping. Litchfield even said they outsource most of the impreza mapping to Bob now because Ian is so busy with GTR development work etc.
Bob has talked about doing a twin map setup using the EcuTek Race rom software so we'll see how it goes.

Cheers
