Still no speedo

Hi guys, changed my workmates speed sensor and speedo clocks but still no joy regarding the mph not working!!! Everything else works ie rev counter,fuel....
The car gets to 4k rpm and then goes lento limp.
The sensor we changed goes from the gearbox into a plug near the turbo,is there any other part of the speed sensor required?
Help,lol....

Strange one that when i had my clutch changed the cable had popped of the back of the clocks and it still drove fine if its an import dont they have a speed limiter buit into the speedo itself maybe thats gone faulty

Is the speedo cable or electonic on them m8 if its cable it could of snapped or if its electronic the speedo itself could of failed

Was the sensor replaced with a new one? Sometimes the speedo fails but the odo still clocks up from the signal. No signal is being recieved by the speedo unit or the ecu, hence limp mode. So either there is a break in the cable from the sensor to the speedo cluster or the sensor is knackered. Mine failed, limpmode and all that. Plopped in a new one and its perfect. Reset ecu to clear codes and nothing returned.

The speedo is electronic and the speed sensor was replaced with a second hand one!! So it could be possible the replacement is knackered aswell, although the guy I bought it of said the speedo worked fine before he broke the car up.....even the replacement clocks doing exactly the same:(
Also the odo don't count the miles either,so it could be the wiring to the cluster then? Dam pain in the arse,lol....Its doing my mates head in now:Whatever_
