warning "CHAV" Stay Away

Hi people,
Hope your all well and by opening this post hope you’re ok with some probably quite heated debating and hopefully some friendly banter thrown in with it.
Been reading through some old posts on here and I’m afraid to say I’m appalled at some of the comments the post originator has received from some members re their personal choice of modifications and styling,
Therefore to protect these shallow minded individuals I have decided to pre label myself as a dreaded chav (first time for everything) so they can avoid me at all costs J
Just in case people are wondering, these are the apparent things that give me my chav status:
Window tint (haven’t actually seen a post confirming this but can’t see why not)
Neon’s.
Flame kit.
Dump valve.
Sound System.
Well that’s the car but surly it’s about me as well:
A levels
Degree
Undertaking professional membership to the ICE
Saving for a mortgage with the misses and kids.
Can’t forget clothes either, can’t say I’ve ever worn a baseball cap, or Burberry, more of a chinos and pumps kind of guy, can’t stand gold.
Anyhow you get the drift feel free to rip me apart because of my likes and dislikes.
Kind regards
Ross

You really have neons?

How's Hastings these days BTW? I used to go on family holidays there in the 80's and early 90's. Lots of fond memories walking all the way to Rye, having cockles in the old town and fish and chips, going to the pier.

tubbytommy 11 July 2013 07:07 PM

neons and a flamer kit.............

yabbadoo4 11 July 2013 07:10 PM

fake roof scoop??

Blue by You 11 July 2013 07:17 PM

Oh dear.
You're going to have the style police after you now Ross :D
You're just going to have to learn to spend your money on modifications that suit other people. :lol1:

Reshard1977 11 July 2013 07:20 PM

Funny thing is, chavs get a bad rep, but from the few I've ever met, they are always super nice people.

I reckon there is a bit of chav inside all of us! :-)

jazzyjembreaze 11 July 2013 07:21 PM

Ever dream about Lambo doors Ross ?

ROSCO99 11 July 2013 07:26 PM

Surely nobody on this site would come down on a fellow subaru owner because of his choice of mods and clothes never not on the famous Scoobynet.
btw whats a chav.

Bezza 11 July 2013 07:28 PM

actually i dnt have any of them on my car lol, but my point still stands because i like them, think it started when i was in america with my family years ago and we stumbled across a load of street racers all with glowing cars, flame kits ect. since then ive never really fallen out of love with them. i go to all types of car shows from classics to custom and apreciate them all in a different way.

dont get me wrong, i wouldnt of dreamed about modding any of my previous cars even my celica GT i was dubious about it. but i wouldnt slag anyone off if they wanted to. persoanl preference as long as youve got the engine to go with it go for it. and again personal preference why spend 10k under the bonnet but not stick some neons under there for when you showing it off at a car show. or are car shows chavvy too.
apollogies if i seem bitter. just cant believe how judgemental some of the comments ive seen on here are. were all different for a reason. it just be plain boring if we wernt
ps hastings has gone down hill but there really trying hard to bring it back up and in my opoinion its slowly working.

And I have:
A levels in more than three subjects
A degree with honours
A membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
Enrolled in a postgraduate degree course that will probably result in membership of another Royal College
A wife and a baby due within the next fortnight

However my car has:
No neons
No flame kit
OEM recirc valve
No massive speaker in the boot

Therefore I'm not a chav lol :luxhello:

It is mostly banter mate but some people take the pi$$ and their cars look dreadful. Get some pics of your car up mate welcome to Scoobynet :thumb:

BigZee87 11 July 2013 07:47 PM

Nothing wrong with a bit of chav. I love all the chavy mods within reason (wouldnt go neons or massive body kits tho lol) I love dump valves, excessively loud exhausts and anti lag (not for the function, just the pops lol) and proud of it. Just means im a big kid inside!!

yabbadoo4 11 July 2013 07:49 PM

lambo doors on a 911?

Me too chap, we used to stay in a small holiday house by the coast.

tubbytommy 11 July 2013 08:11 PM

I went there a few times to a haven caravan site, very nice back in the 80's n 90's

nyscooby 11 July 2013 08:12 PM

huge difference between street racers and boy racers.......

I lived in the states for 10 years....... theres no chavs in LA or Miami..... just poor people with sh1t cars.....

belliott69 11 July 2013 08:31 PM

When I was 17 I used to go to Guildford cruise a lot and I loved all the bodykits, neons and flamer kits, then when I got my first Impreza I realised it was a bunch of wasteful tat and grew out of it very quickly.

f1_fan 11 July 2013 08:47 PM

To hell with the chavtastic modifications, it's your English that is annoying me :D

Was that on the east hill. I recall some camp sites there and holiday homes? There was a pitch and putt golf course too.

I have A levels in 5 subjects
Couldn't afford to go to Uni but I would have aced it doing no revision/work knowing me (like the rest of my school years) and would have whored around for 3 years
Taught myself computers, network systems and security (mostly to improve my pr0n downloading skillz) along with various IT geek qualifications
Run a successful Specialist Legal IT support company
Have a totally useless but lovely other half, even though she smells like a dead yak whenever she exercises/gets really hot

My cars have:
No neons
No flame kits
No NOS yo!
Recirc valves wherever possible
Factory fitted subwoofers
No stickers

I got out of Scooby ownership primarily due to the amount of stickered up toilet examples being driven around my area by chavs. Bought my first one in 2001, sold my third one in 2008 and only recently got back in again and am currently de-chavving my Blobeye!

Sorry to be like this but I am happy that chavved examples get abused on here ;)

Amen, end of thread :thumb:

Mr Footlong 11 July 2013 09:31 PM

I lied about the being sorry part, sorry.

jimboscooby 11 July 2013 09:38 PM

I don't wear a baseball cap but I love my big noisy exhaust and love spooling up the turbo so everyone can here my dump valve! Does that make me a chav?? Well if that doesn't, the neons in my Elise probably do (although I didn't put them there and I have removed the sub. It wasn't ideal for the track!!!)

As was said in a previous post, as long as you've got the engine to go with it then go for it! What does my head in is these guys that thrash around in tinted out civic with a huge exhaust but couldn't beat my nan's ford c-max off the line!! Stop playing with toys and get some boost!!!!!

Mr Footlong 11 July 2013 09:43 PM

Silly boy, they don't need boost, they just wait for the Vtec kick yo.

bioforger 11 July 2013 09:44 PM

Neons in an elise?!?! that is the gayest mod ever.

Feck i hate neons, totally tasteless and tacky. You might as well strip naked, string a 100watt lamp around your junk and stick a sign in front saying get it here. Neons are for attention seeking/chav whores and metrosexual twats. No offence :)

With just enough alcohol in me I would try that if I thought it had a chance of getting me some strange. Sadly I think that strange would consist of tramps bottoms and a hefty dose of the clap.
