Blobeye with BC coilovers question
Hi all,
I have an 05 blob (widetrack) which is on standard shocks (or stilts as I call them) and have a set of BC-BR(RH) coilovers en route. I want to set the height so that the wheels fit the arches if that makes sense, IE an equal gap round between the tyre and the arch. can anyone give me some base measurements to start with? thanks in advance PS, running on 18" wheels if that helps. |
why would you want to do that. There are more negatives to be had by lowering that far down. Yes your car will look very very low but you will have poor driveability, the ride will be uncomfortable, cornering will be unsafe, you may also need to get the arches rolled back, and most likely fail MOT.
Remember the British roads have plenty of uneven bumpy roads so as soon as you hit a pothole or bump you will do more damage to the car than you can imagine. Each to there own but word of advise from someone who has BC's on the same car at a standard ride height. Also remember you can adjust the dampering so presumming you go as low as you say you will, when you come to adjusting the dampering to be hard your car will feel terrible. good luck |

ah thats better - cool. i cant give a measurement to mines as it was done my scoobyworld years back and its just about right.
im sure someone will post the measurements you require. |
When i had mine done i was advised three revolutions of gold ring down and damping on 10

Thought I'd bump this thread instead of making another one, I also have some BC's coming. Is a 40mm setup too low with 18" wheels? I assuming that it will be similar to this;
http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/k...o/S7302280.jpg I don't want my car sitting on it's arse but I'm need of some advise with this. |
if it is an STI like mine it will be fine, I dropped mine to 35mm and i could go much lower. I have R18's on too.

Yeah its fairly low, but i can honestly say its as comfy sitting at that height as any car i have ever owned before, and i live on a fairly bumpy back road and as yet, two years later i have had no problems whatsoever with the car scraping or hitting the road, even with 3 passengers on board :) Only problem i have is the front splitter hitting ramps and things like that but it does sit low and i just be careful now! I wouldn't worry about going as low as that at all, and i thnk the front looks better lower than the back, gives the car a nice stance IMO :norty: Get it slammed lol :thumb: |
So a 40mm drop will be ok thancks

Heard that subaru dont play nice when slamed
