Turbo advice

Hi all

I currently have a v5 sti with uprated fuel pump, standard injectors, big newage top mount, blitz nurspec r exhaust including decat and an ecutek remap which is currently 346bhp.
Im looking into other turbos to help me get closer to the high 300's but dont know what to go for. Whats the differences between the vf range and say the td05 20g? It seems as tho the vf range are more expensive but why is that?

My next mods are an alcatek mapped by JGM (coming soon) and then new turbo and bigger injectors.

Any advice is more than welcome! :hjtwofing
Thanks

I have a second-hand 20g on my STi 5 - mapped @ 384bhp on VP.

Paid £370 for it inc. postage and has been working brilliantly since Nov 2010 - when it was fitted (with supporting mods).

Bit laggy on the 2.0, but the pull is great, with no let-up to the redline.

What's your budget for the turbo?

(Also, I'm guessing at 346bhp already, you're already running a FMIC and =>550cc injectors?)

No its actually a huge newage top mount so theres no lag at all and its on standard 440's but was dyno'd at 346 only 2 months ago at enginetuner in plymouth.

I'd say about £300 to £400 on the turbo really.
Thats good figures on yours!! What mods do you have?

You'll defo need at least 550cc inj. for high 300s.

Check out My Garage - everthing is listed. :)

Just checked it out.......... Thats some serious dollar there mate!! Sounds like you've built a real animal tho!! Money well spent!!

I could well be tempted with the td05 now then. Seems to be reasonable money too.
That with some injectors and the alcatek should be pretty good. Then it'll be the brakes next! Then the bodywork.
I cleaned her for the first time yesterday (i've only had her a week and a half and work in central london so dont get alot of free time!!!) and was nearly in tears to see the state she's been allowed to get in.
The bodywork will need a fair bit of tlc!!

My mods are positively 'mild' when compared to some! ;)

Would anyone risk the td05 20g's that you can get off eBay for around 200 quid as I see others like the Kinugawa range for about 500 quid??

Do you get much more for your money???

iv been looking at 20g's as well, some people swear against the cheapo ebay ones but others have said that they have used them with no problems at all so think its a bit hit an miss.

I think they way im going to go though is to try and find a second hand AFP or another nicer one. Id love an MD321H but would be a fair few more pennys.
