If it's not in the headers then should be just after the turbo (hidden by the turbo cowl) in the down pipe.

MrNoisy 09 July 2013 03:32 PM

You need to remove a cover in the arch to get at it but it's very simple to replace.

Don't want to sound condescending but you're looking on the driver's side right! :)

If no then you should be able to trace the wire for the O2 sensor from the plug next to the boost solenoid and work your way down.
The wire to it is also Secured to the block by a plastic clip next to one of the coilpacks if the design has remained the same.

If not then jack the car up, get the engine cover off and go hunting!

looks like the jdm hatch doesn't have a temp sensor in the down pipe and that's the 02 sensor. unsure if uk 2.5 is the same..

cheers for all the help though guys :thumb:

Mate it's the wrx that has a temperature sensor in the up pipe not down pipe.
STI won't have one.

There's an O2 sensor in the downpipe (or centre section if you have a two piece job iirc).
However like others have said there should also be one in the headers.

I'd be most surprised if the hatch has one....tried ringing the dealer to ask?

yes I spoke to as performance as ive ordered a new 1 from them and they have told me the hatch doesn't have 1 in the headers just front 02 in the top of the downpipe and the rear 02 in the centre of the exhaust about the middle of the car..

Fair do's mate. BTW hope you didn't pay much more than £90 for it.
If not, in future try World Car Parts - they were the cheapest I could find when mine went.

scoobsy 10 July 2013 05:48 PM

yes it cost 3times that as only oem available for mine, its a jdm so it had to be ordered from japan...
