JDM Blobeye - PRICE REDUCTION...

Now sold.

**Seen something I like, so PRICE REDUCTION**

I've decided to put my JDM Blobeye up for sale. I don't need to sell, but after owning 4 Scoobs, I just fancy a change. Might go to the dark side for a bit (*cough* Mitsubishi!). I can always come back ;) Because I don't have to sell, I won't entertain silly offers. If it doesn't sell, I'll keep on enjoying it. I'm also not interested in a part-ex.

Now that's out of the way, on to the car :thumb: Considered by many to be the absolute top-end of Imprezas; The JDM Blobeye.

Details:
• Tax end Dec
• MOT Jan
• 58000 miles (will go up, used daily)
• Loads of paperwork (literally a stack of it)
• Full service history (recent cam belt too)
• Supplied new by Litchfield in 2003

• Remapped by Bob Rawle to 360bhp (with launch control, switchable boost)
• 3” decat downpipe (catalyst supplied)
• Cusco titanium 3” system (custom-made bung supplied)
• Apexi panel filter
• HRC Performance 255lph fuel pump
• NGK Laser Platinum PFR7B spark plugs
• Pierburg 3-port BCS
• DEI Heatwrapped manifold, up-pipe, downpipe

Transmission:
• Std 6-speed with DCCD-A

Suspension, Wheels:
• 8.5” x 18” Rota Force Drifts
• 225x40x18 Ultrac Sessanta (front)
• 225x40x18 Pirelli P-Zero Rosso (rear)
• Gold KYB rear shocks
• Eibach Pro springs
• Uprated & polybushed ARB droplinks

Interior, Security:
• Defi Amber BF Gauges (boost, oil pressure, oil temp)
• Defi Link Controller II
• Defi dash pod
• RAC Tracker – needs subscription renewed

• Genuine Subaru plastic boot liner

Exterior:
• STI Mud Flaps
• Adjustable lightweight rear spoiler
• Undersealed
• Bugeye side repeaters with LED bulbs
• LED indicators all round with LED flasher unit
• Gas bonnet lifters
• Auto mirror-folding with ignition off ;)
• Fog light added to driver's side reverse light
• Proper fog light switch!

Stock JDM stuff (over UKDM) includes:
• Equal length manifold
• Amber illuminated Defi instrumentation with sweep-on-start
• Electric folding mirrors
• Quicker steering rack
• 8000rpm redline (7k for UKDM)
• VF37 Twin-scroll turbo
• Larger profile cams with AVCS
• Larger valves
• Hypereutectic pistons
• Forged con rods
• Nitrated and cross drilled crank
• 6-speed with DCCD (JDM has shorter ratios plus auto mode on DCCD and stronger bearings)
• Auto intercooler spray (UKDM is manual)
• Titanium strut brace

The car has been completely resprayed in the original 01G silver over the last couple of months (except for the roof). The front wings had started to rust where the mud flaps bolted through, so I picked up a couple of second hand wings and had them fitted and sprayed by a local bodyshop. At the same time I had the front bumper done for stonechips and the rear bumper done due to a car park scrape.

However, I noticed that although the colour match was good, the original paint was quite dull by comparison and the bonnet was still pretty stone chipped. Subaru paint is hella thin from the factory as we all know. So I booked it in and had the rest done. Now it looks rather good and won't as prone to chipping as the original paint.

Pictures can be found in a Dropbox album here.

Second set of pics here.

This is what an equal-length JDM manifold, 3" downpipe & decat plus a Cusco titanium system sounds like -

£7995 ono

Car is located on the Isle of Wight. Test drives will be ok as long as you bring proof of your (fully comp) pre-arranged insurance for this vehicle. Your own car insurance will only cover 3rd party on mine and so you won't be driving it.

Thanks for reading all that  :lol1:

Not the very top end of Imprezas IMHO :D but an absolutely cracking motor nonetheless :thumb:

Not going to wish you luck with that sale as you'll be worse off in something else!

Major_Sarcasm 24 June 2013 11:50 PM

The best Impreza is a discussion thread all by itself ;) But in my humble opinion, apart from the JDM Hawk (and I prefer the looks of the Blob), you can't get much better.

Thanks for the comments though :thumb:

CREWJ 25 June 2013 07:01 PM

That is very nice, great write up. Should fetch that money tbh.

Major_Sarcasm 25 June 2013 07:14 PM

Thanks mate.

Had a request via PM to ask if I could add some under-bonnet shots. So I have. Now in the album linked in the 1st post. And if you're too lazy to scroll back up, they're here.

LSherratt 25 June 2013 08:25 PM

I want this  GLWTS. :thumb:

stuart148 27 June 2013 08:45 AM

you fancy a swap for a focus rs ?

Major_Sarcasm 27 June 2013 11:02 AM

Not really my thing, but thanks.

Maz 27 June 2013 03:23 PM

Having dealt with Major I can assure everyone the car will be better than described. Best of luck with the sale although part of me hopes you keep it as I don't want you to defect to the dark side!:D

Major_Sarcasm 27 June 2013 06:29 PM

Hehe, thanks mate :)

Major_Sarcasm 28 June 2013 10:06 PM

PMs answered. Added genuine boot liner to 1st post ;)

Major_Sarcasm 03 July 2013 07:05 PM

Nice edit ;)

Major_Sarcasm 11 July 2013 07:56 PM

PMs answered.

Mileage is now just less than 58,300.

For convenience, the two sets of pics are here & here. Taken in two different places about a week apart, 2nd set was a sunnier day :)

FYI fully comp insurance on another car does cover your car to be driven fully covered, as your car is the 3rd party ;)

ste_brough 11 July 2013 11:24 PM

No it doesn't, your cover is normally reduced to TPF&T when driving any other car than the one insured on the policy. Even this depends on the insurer, some put an age limit on driving other cars.

Sorry, this is not correct at all. The 3rd party refers to anyone who you might collide with.

Exactly. So, if a test-pilot crashed, I'd be stuffed. Also, some insurers regard this 'driving other vehicles' cover as emergencies only, not when you feel like it. When I bought this car, I took out a day's insurance to test drive it. Cost me less than 30 quid as I recall.

LSherratt 12 July 2013 01:32 PM

The whole fully comp insurance rubbish is exactly that, rubbish. These days it's different.... if you want to drive someone else's car, then you need specific insurance to drive that car; plus it's not expensive for a days cover like Major has said.

GONZO01 12 July 2013 02:58 PM

Every time I see a new post on this thread I keep thinking **** he has sold the car! Then I read the thread and breath a sigh of relief as I want the car and as soon as my funds arrive I will be pm-ing major and arranging a viewing. So stop posting on this thread if you haven't got fully comp insurance for the car you are going to buy I wouldn't let you drive it either £50 tops and that's the maximum you would pay for a days cover.

Major_Sarcasm 15 July 2013 06:29 PM

Still here. Got a few interested parties but no-one with cold, hard cash yet ;)

Dug out the catalyst the other day from my mate's garage, so that can go with the car if it sells.

Major_Sarcasm 17 July 2013 09:59 PM

Private plate will be removed on Friday. Someone is supposed to be coming Sunday to look & possibly buy. Here's hoping he turns up.

AWG 18 July 2013 09:49 AM

Great spec mate, if I'd seen something like this when I was researching mine I'd of bitten your arm off!

Quick update:

After a bit of confusion (my fault) over the removal of a private registration to a retention certificate, I had to put my potential buyer on hold. I was under the impression that you could still plonk a plate on retention at a DVLA local office. Unfortunately, that's no longer true, it has to be done by post at Swansea. I'm aware that it can be done at point of sale by putting the new keepers' details on the V317 and myself as the Grantee, but the chap I had coming over was from Europe and so that couldn't be done.

So, to save any future hassles, I'm sending the docs off tomorrow to get the plate put on retention. Any interested parties can still come and view the car, even put a deposit on it, but I'm not letting the car go until the transfer is complete (probably a fortnight or so), just in case DVLA decide they want to inspect the car (which, although unlikely, could happen and be awkward for all concerned).

Major_Sarcasm 24 July 2013 10:11 PM

Docs have been received by the DVLA. Shouldn't be long before I get the V5 & MOT back.

Major_Sarcasm 10 August 2013 10:34 AM

All docs received back from the DVLA present & correct and the car is back on its original registration :)

It's now available to view for those guys that have messaged me.

Major_Sarcasm 10 August 2013 05:06 PM

Dropped the price a bit in original post. Lots of cheap Imprezas about at the moment. Shame. We should be more like the Evo crowd and keep the prices buoyant.

Mileage is now 58,800

Very nice mate some great pics
