Quick shift, is it worth it?

Is a quick shift gear linkage worth it, seems like an easy an cheap mod, but do u notice that much difference, thanks

Yes mate ,makes a big difference you dont need to buy the most expensive one either . My one was a little over £30 on eBay and works well .

I agree, I have one fitted to my bugeye, nice cheap useable mod.

It's even better when you have flat foot shifting mapped in.

Would be better to put the money into a gear linkage bush kit from Alyn at ASperformance.

How easy are they to fit?

If they make that much of a difference then will look at getting one.

2 Attachment(s)
Just take off the gearknob, remove the gaitor and plastic bit.
Then undo the bolt holding the linkage together. Apply a bit
of force to pop the old gearstick out then use a plastic ended
mallet to force the balljoint of the new stick into place and
tighten up the bolt. There's a metal plate that goes around
the stick, I bent this upwards slightly to stop the linkage from
catching it-

When it's all fitted it might feel a bit stiff for a while but it will
slacken a little over time. They are supposed to make the gear
throw shorter making it quicker to change gear and some say
that they make your gearstick feel like a little joystick on an
arcade machine lol

Probably the best way to shave a couple of tenths off that 0-60 sprint IMHO :)

Hurrrrm, may have to get one of these.

Coming from VW's to impreza's i am finding 2nd to 3rd a real task. I nearly put the gear stick through the head unit every time i change. Have to keep remembering its kind of diagonal to 3rd from 2nd.

If you kind of know what i mean.....
