no side lights

i have no side lights front or rear, all fuses checked ok bulbs ok. voltage at steering stalk switch, dip n main beam works , as do the front n rear sidelights if using the parking switch, does anyone know of another reason why the wouldn't work please ?

That sounds like a faulty light switch. If they work with parking lights they use the same wiring so it won't be that. If all the fuses are fine it must be the switch?????

that was my thought but it has voltage at stalk, but the side lights have been staying on lately after turning ignition off, leading me to believe a sticking relay, could be the problem, turning the ignition on and off a few times cure it but now they won't come on at all

The sidelights, being only 4 x 5W are very unlikely to need a relay.

i'd look again at the switch, or maybe the parking light switch?

0k will give it a go, will swap stalk over :thumb:

It could easily be the parking light switch on top of the steering column.

that works . by that i mean it turns them on when ign on or off makes no difference, but with ign on sidelights will not come on using stalk, but dip n main beam work

On mine, that switch simply KEEPS them on when the ignition is turned off, if it's showing a red flash, and if you have turned them on at the stalk.

Otherwise, they are selected by the first click on the stalk end as it turns.

it's sorted now . it was the relay on top of the fuse box, if anyone has same problem it's the small black relay on interior fuse box in middle , swapped it and now all is working :thumb:
