Ridiculous MOT advisorys (pic inside)

Are there any MOT guys that can explain why this is so ridiculous?

No.4 is fine as I don't have a rear bench inside the car, but how can the standard engine covers be classed as an advisory? Secondly, how on earth is having to press the headlight switch an advisory? :brickwall

(Sorry about the upside down pic)

Did you confront them and ask why? I agree though, ridiculous to get an advisory.

only covering thier backs since thier not aloud to remove anything

if theres a fault behind the tray they wouldnt have seen it, if vosa checked and saw a fault behind the tray the garage is covered

a bit picky though

There should be a "Comments" section on MOT's for this, not "Advisory" in my opinion.

My dad got this on his B6 Passat a little while back too.
It passed with flying colours.

Very picky. I don't think it's a true MOT if VOSA don't keep up with manufacturers that fit such engine covers and undertrays.

They take a minute(s) to remove, and could reveal a host of MOT issues, or at least proper advisories like oil leaks or coolant leaks etc - the sort of thing I'd like to know about after paying (in some cases) £54.85
