David Hendry Imported STI

Hi

I might be going to view a MY00 STI over the weekend, had a quick chat with the owner and he said the car was imported into the UK from New by David.

Question is, what's his procedure for getting it ready for UK roads? Does he tweek the map for UK fuel? Underseal them?

Thanks

Only David Hendry himself can answer you, but I can tell you he was a reputable importer back in the day, he is knowledgeable with Subaru and yes, he would have done whatever was necessary, like underseal the car, convert the speedo, rear fog light, (properly installed, not a silly cheap item which hangs from the rear bumper). As for the remapping, you can only ask them personally.

David Hendry cars are based in Wiltshire.....give them a call.

Greg ;)

My first Impreza, a WRX, was imported by David Hendry which I bought when it was 1 year old in 2000.

It was a superb car and nothing appeared to have been "tacked" on. It all appeared standard kit. Can't comment on any mapping but the car was a 276bhp and I ran it initially on Super but then moved on to Tesco 99 and V-Power.

Just wrap this thread up and update it for future research.

Spoke to a guy at David Hendry today and all they do is change the speedo to MPH and fit rear fog light.

They also wax oiled some, but it was at New owners request.

Thanks for your help guys.

You won't find any dealer that will/would have had the map tweaked. Its too expensive.

As above, got mine wax oiled and Ecutek'd by Bob Rawle after taking delivery from David Hendry.

If it's the grey one in question (widetrack), i contacted David Hendry about the car a month or so back. He told me it was undergoing paint prep as it had scratches and a few scuffs. I passed on the car in the end but just thought i'd bring it to your attention. Alot of cars do see some paint over time but how good the job is or was is a different story all together. I'd query that with them if it's not been bought to your attention already. :thumb:
