Visiting England next week breakers yards?

Hello all. My name is Elias just recently joined this site. Next week I will be going oversees into Europe for the first time. I'm visiting a friend in east Preston/littlehampton and we're also going to the 24 hours of le mans. I was wondering if they were any reputable breakers yards (we call them junk yards in the US) I can source some bits I want to get for my classic gc8?

Have a look in the traders breaking cars section and have the parts delivered to your mates place before you get here, I think you will have to pay £2.00 subscription for one month though.:thumb:

I figured as much tho £2 isn't that bad only if it's for a month. The market here is scarce since they only came with a shell of what the gc/gm chassis is truly capable of and two they're very rare here. Everyone has bigeye and up wax and sti's

Welcome to the site Elias and I hope you enjoy your trip, especially Le Mans if you haven't been before. Safe trip over buddy.

I booked all of this since November of last year and considering I'm only about a week away I'm so anxious to go its unbearable!!

Not too many breakers yards as such these days and the ones that are around don't specialise in one mark generally so could be a bit hit and miss, also a lot of the guys breaking cars don't want folk wandering around their lock up/yard too many tea leafs about, and we have imported your compensation culture so insurance is a problem, see it's all your yanks fault us brits can't have fun in scrap yards anymore.:lol1:

Are you on pistionheads? They have a free Sunday service (on the Friday) at le mans , check it out should be a good car show.

Come say hi if you see a blue hawkeye with Rcm sunstrip!

If you know what parts you want, check out ebay UK or Grade A at Hayfield, near to Manchester.

If you near south London on route to Le Mans then Jap Performance Parts are close.

You need to visit pole position in Birmingham. Mattybr5@poleposition is his user name on here.

Send him a pm and i'm sure he'll be able to get you what you need and he might even make you a cup of tea.

I've bought lots of parts from him from interiors to power steering pumps. All parts have been better than described and at a more than reasonable price.

Scoobyspares in Fleetwood and CAMS in Darwen (though not a breaker) are good also, they're in the North West of England you might want to give them both a shout.

Adgespeed in Manchester have a lot of parts also, and you can always try JapPerformanceParts down South who tend to have what you're after but they are a little steep.

Geez. Some yards are like that here but for the most part it's cheaper to pick it out yourself. As for being our fault....there are a lot of things that are America's fault trust me lol

Thanks for the info guys. After I go premium I'll be sure to contact them

Email them before your trip and they'll be able to tell you what they have which fits your bill. They are a nice bunch.

Cheers
