[Apple] WWDC Keynote

It seems the keynote is going to be streamed live on an AppleTV app / channel which has popped up, plus live on the web here.

Main topics will be iOS 7 and OS X 10.9. Doubt there will be mention of new iOS devices, but could well be refresh of the laptops and perhaps mention of a new Mac Pro.

Looking forward to it, though it seems all the rumors have been dismissed as way off the mark :)
Though could be be just Apple doing a bit of disinformation seeding :D

So is that it for this year's tech refresh or could there still be a new iphone/macbook pros later this year through seperate announcements?

I thought WWDC was pretty much it for the year?

Nope, WWDC is far from the last Apple event of the year. It's usually not focussed on iOS devices, well, from a launch perspective. They may occasionally get a mention, but these days they have their own event.

I would suspect that there will be another event that officially launches iOS 7, and at that event the iPhone 5S, iPad 5th Generation, and iPad mini Retina will be announced / launched. Probably the same timeframe as for the iPhone 5 launch last year.

I'd feel right at home with apple's next os version :)

anything 'pro' and 10 inch in the same sentance is dreaming, i did have to larf they have gone away from 'game changer' to 'polarising' lol

So new features then,

New look
New music streaming app (another one, who they bought this time?)
Auto app updates (though that was there already?)
Swipe-up function
Expansion in siri
Anti theft change so you have to enter password to turn off find my phone
New fonts

Considering all the hype its not exactly a massive update is it, give it 20 mins and jack will be on with all the usual apple PR BS lol

The control center thing will be quite handy, they have lacked a one touch setting option from anywhere for quite some time, whereas if you had jailbroken your device you could use SBSettings to do that.

Apps do not auto-update on pre iOS 7, and I hope there is an option to disable that, simply as *I* want to be able to control what is updated and when it is updated. Partly the QA in me, as when we release a new app, I want to make sure the old one has been setup in a known condition before the update is downloaded, so I can verify the upgrade procedure works properly.

Update Apps Manually - The App Store now updates apps automatically, but for users who prefer to handle things themselves, automatic updates can be disabled via a slider in Settings / iTunes & App Stores.

and thats ground breaking and a 'game changer' how exactly?

There's nothing special in it.

No love for the power saving? App nap? Look like a cracking crossover from iOS to me. Simple but brilliant.
